If Moneen isn't on Riot Fest (or doing something else in Chicago) then I'm seriously considering a trip to Boston in June to see them open the Vagrant mini-fest with Thrice.
The three bands I really want are Moneen, Rocket From the Crypt and Bloodhoung Gang. Then a Hippos and Home Grown reunion.
I'll be there! A little bummed we didn't get Alkaline Trio but the line-up is fire, anyway. Moneen is looking likelihood and Rocket from the Crypt are perpetually in play but... As far as I've heard BHG doesn't plan on being active anytime soon (because Jarred lives in Germany and is an actor there now; kinda wish they'd just ditch him anyway, TBH). Are there rumblings from anything in the Hippos or Home Grown camp about reunions? I feel like the Hippos is never gonna happen just because they aren't really big enough to warrant the big paycheck (and Ariel is busy with songwriting/production). And with the one guy from Home Grown just starting up another project it feels unlikely. Why do you say that? I feel like there's plenty of Bamboozle-ready acts that could be booked. Especially when you factor in their propensity for hip-hop, EDM, pop, metalcore, etc. All genres Riot tends to avoid (with the exception of a handful of hip-hop acts each year). And if Bamboozle were happening I'd put money on the Gaslight Anthem and Midtown shows taking place being the Bamboozle date instead. Hah.
Funny you should mention them. John D has specifically teased that both of those bands are on the Bamboozle lineup next year
Has he? I know there were teases about some high-profile reunions but wasn't aware that it was either of those two specifically. I recall him making a statement that was incredibly vague, basically just saying "We have big reunions!" with a specific number that they had locked in. Well, that's a bummer. Looks like I'll be getting a ticket to the MA date!
I’ll gladly take Vampire Weekend. I think the only thing holding The Hippos back is Ariel. I remember not too long ago Scott Heisel was bothering all the members on Twitter about it and some interacted. So let me dream.
Vampire Weekend would be sick, I’ve still never seen them live and I really want to one of these days
Vampire Weekend are much better now live with their current line up but they can only play Riot if they cover Rancid again
Deafheaven is out, they'll be touring in Europe the same weekend. Rainbow Kitten Surprise is in Quebec and Maine that weekend as well.
Would love TSL, I think they played in '19 so I'm not sure if it means they're due or not. I never get tired of watching Kenny perform.
Bad Religion, Descendents, Pennywise, Silverstein, Story of the Year, Lagwagon, H20, I Am the Avalanche, Destroy Boys, The Bombpops, Keep Flying, All Time Low, Jimmy Eat World, The Story So Far, The Starting Line, The Maine, Mom Jeans, and Angel Du$t all track to play this year.
