I really was convinced Pup was gonna play, that’s a bummer. Gonna have to make the trip up to Milwaukee then. 40 minutes at coachella won’t quite be enough I’m afraid
I know you're being sarcastic, but don't fret.. for my own amusement I'm trying to do a daily mock schedule for each day, 90 bands.. 30 a day.. trying to avoid conflicts as much as I can (some dude on Reddit had Rosenstock & Menzingers at the same time, ouch).. and I still have bands I can't fit in and not knowing the third headliner makes it hard.. (and I do not think GVF is playing, yet)
Aerosmith is in play. The yahveh the entire weekend off from their Vegas Residency. It would be really easy for them to fly out to Chicago, play Just Push Play front-to-back (20 year anniversary so that's gotta happen), and then back to Vegas at the end of the weekend. It's pretty obvious.
If we’re calling Bauhaus a lock you can go ahead and move them to Saturday. That’s the only day they have free
I love Thursday dearly but at this point I'd be more excited for a set with zero Full Collapse songs than for the full album.
Yeah I think they’ve beaten a dead horse with Full Collapse album plays. Maybe if they played a different album, or just played a normal set…
This is more park related than Riot related, but I guess there’s some pushback from Summer Smash happening in Douglass because it’s on Juneteenth. I wonder if anything will come of this. With the way Summer Smash trashed the park last year and the disastrous events that caused the park to be as bad as it was, I kind of hope this causes the festival to be moved elsewhere.
Four Chord Music Festival in Pittsburgh gets announced on Tuesday, there might be some crossover with Riot Fest.
Rise Against was a last minute add to Riot, but there was definitely some other bands that were crossover last year
If I remember coreectly it was Mayday Parade and the whole State Champs tour minus Real Friends. So if this year its in September again definetly there will be crossover!
It's in September but a week earlier than Riot this year and expanding to two days... so probably still some crossover with Riot
Wheeler Walker Jr just put out a new record & is touring some, I feel like it's bizarre enough country to fit in at Riot
Yeah but he was opening those shows for Car Seat Headrest (and both shows were sold out), and there's definitely a demand there to see him live so I'd say he is pretty likely
I think with a lot of people there should not be any issues. I take the Pink Line to 18th whenever I hit up Thalia Hall and have never had any issues (knock on wood), so I assume this was just an isolated incident.
Damn I didn't know about that. And I can't make that date. I have the worst luck with her shows they never work out for me
Bartees Strange would be a great Riot add. He seems to be hitting it hard this year, and coming back around to the same place he just opened for somebody else could make a lot of sense. Catbite is from Philly, so this date doesn't necessarily mean anything unless they announce other tour dates around it.
It was tongue and cheek, but also probably legit.. that they announced on Twitter they were playing Riot. They have Sunday listed on their twitter for XPoNential, so most likely they would be playing the Friday if they actually play
