They didn't really change it, though. They just put the calendar on the right. Everything else is pretty much the same. Kinda just feels like general housekeeping. Does anyone remember what the URL was for that image directory we found last year that basically indicated the line-up was coming? That was fun to watch.
Jeff Rosenstock looks to finally be very possible for Riot, his instagram has a blacked out date between June 25 & September 30 hope it isn't too much to ask for a regular set and a Ska Dream set (even if it's an aftershow) lol.
The third headliner dream for me would be GHOST. even if they played opposite of Paramore I’d be cool with that
I am all for people being ambitious about their predictions, and in the end it's sometimes just people posting their dream lineups, but... https://www.reddit.com/r/RiotFest/comments/tyqwrt/my_ideal_rf_lineup_for_22/?sort=top Fall Out Boy a sub headliner? Childish Gambino (fifth his day!?), The Black Keys, Vampire Weekend, Logic, A$AP Rocky, J. Cole (who is literally headlining Lolla this year) all sub-headliners? Sleater-Kinney, Beach House (who last sold out the Chicago Theater and has headlined Pitchfork before) a few lines down? Big Thief (who literally sub-headlined at Pitchfork last year, and have gotten a ton of attention for their album this year) on the second to last line their day? A Day To Remember on the third line? (I don't listen to them anymore but they're still bigger than third line their day I assume). What is the person who made this smoking? Haha. This mock is just wild (and some of these acts are...not in Riot's wheelhouse at all, but that's another discussion) so I had to share it here.
Dude, he's trolling either way, more than half the bands he listed: 1. have other shows in Chicago around Riot 2. played last year 3. aren't even active anymore 4. just left like a whole bunch of the default names on the poster generator website 5. surprisingly spelled Hanson correctly there's no way this was even remotely done as a serious mock
Ehh I'm not so sure about that, it is the Riot Fest subreddit after all. Plus there's nothing else from the user to imply they are trolling, but if they are, well they got me.
I would be down for Ghost being the 3rd headliner, although I dont dig their music that much since Prequelle
Ghost just played Rosemont in February.. USUALLY the headliners only Chicago show of the year is Riot
That would be great. Riot might have a better chance at grabbing him in the future since they kinda have a connect now since The Raconteurs played
I haven’t been since 2016 and then they did food tickets and preferred cash. Has either of those things changed? The tickets were ok but I hardly ever have cash on me. I was looking at the FAQ page and didn’t see anything.
They haven’t done the food tickets thing in a long time (maybe since 2016?). I typically just pay cash for food but I’m sure some places take cards.
As far as I could tell last year, the vast majority of food vendors accept credit cards at this point. All of the food trucks certainly did.
The Chicago date doesn't technically rule him out but the fact that he's hitting almost all major US cities, Europe, and Japan on a tour that lasts all summer makes me think it's incredibly unlikely he'd come back to a city for a festival date after that run. He's doing Bourbon and Beyond, but that's a state he doesn't hit up on the rest of the tour.
Dashboard and Andrew McMahon announced a tour. Misses quite a few big markets, including Chicago and end a week or so before Riot. Could be a possibility but not set in stone. I really just like the openers (Armor for Sleep, Cartel, and The Juliana Theory)
Any of those three openers would be great early day main stage acts. The only one that would do anything for me, personally, is Armor For Sleep... But they'd all be excellent gets.
Andrew McMahon was great in 2015 so I'd love to see him again, but all three of the openers would be a big deal for me. Three bands that I really liked when I was younger and never saw when they were active.
