Those bands are Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Bastille, Milky Chance, Walk the Moon, Cold War Kids, Almost Monday, Arrested Youth, and Cannons.
As someone who used to work in the medium and grew up with a city that used to have two pretty vibrant, interesting alternative rock stations... It just keeps getting more and more depressing looking at the line-ups that drop each year for the radio-sponsored events. From the looks of that bill, nothing has changed or evolved for the format in 10+ years. Which shouldn't be shocking to me but... It always catches me off-guard.
If I lived close by, seeing those acts for $20 would be pretty solid, but no way in hell are they worth traveling to Tinley for, IMHO.
I thought the same thing. Wouldn't mind seeing Nathaniel, Cold War Kids, and Walk the Moon for that price.
Yeah, if there's two or three bands I really want to see, PIQNIQ is a fun evening. The 1975, Bleachers, and Jimmy Eat World in 2017 was awesome.
Death Cab is touring in September. We haven’t ruled them out as the third headliner have we? They are in the studio working on a new album currently too.
They were a sub-headliner in 2016, they could play opposite Misfits if they are booked, but I have no idea..
I left halfway through their set so I could catch a ride home with friends and I definitely regret it. What I saw was amazing. I'm already seeing them once this year at Summerfest but I'll gladly catch them again.
Death Cab would definitely be a solid sub-headliner for the main stage or 2nd stage closer. Do they have a new album on the way? Something about the spring/summer tour routing looks like a "let's just get out and play some shows ahead of a big album" kinda feel. Could easily see them adding a few fall festival dates and a significant number of A-market tour dates in the fall.
Yeah they’re supposedly working on a new album rn. I bet it gets a fall release of some sort and a proper A/B market tour
Me and my wife count Joyce Manor as our wedding band considering we got married, got drinks/food, and then immediately saw them last year at the fest. Just have Joyce Manor play every year plz
I was going to say I think that almost confirms Greta is playing (in the Midwest right before Riot). Whether they are the third headliner I'm not sure, but them being on that lineup does give that theory more weight.
