omg Tenacious D in Ohio September 16 and Milwaukee September 18 but open September 17 and no Chicago date on the tour. This surely has to be a lock right?
I know there’s that open day on the 17th but would they really play 5 shows in a row without a break because it would be shows the 16-20th
Something interesting I noticed: GWAR and Clutch are both playing the same day on Louder Than Life AND Aftershock. I wonder if a GWAR/Clutch tour is happening this year and Clutch will be open to play Riot. Also noticed Helmet and Meshuggah playing the same day on both as well, but Meshuggah is out, so if Helmet is Converge’s replacement on the Meshuggah tour, they’re out
What kind of band with the word Tenacious can't play 5 days of shows in a row This was just wordplay btw There is a chance they don't play I suppose, but I'd lean more towards them playing
I don’t know. I don’t listen to them or know what their past touring is like so I was genuinely curious
I hear what you're saying, but taking off a Saturday would be silly since (I would guess) it's a big money making day. Plus their RF set is probably shorter than a typical one? I dunno. I think we're both being logical.
played in 2014 too fun fact: Riot Mike isn't shy about booking certain bands multiple times over and over again
Has Alice Cooper ever played? Him being on Louder Than Life has me hopeful. Also stoked to see Don Broco back in the states again this fall
Alice Cooper playing would be cool bc a bunch of people would dress up like Wayne’s World and it would be great.
The more I think about the possibility of Midtown being on Riot fest the same day/stage as MCR... The more excited I get about the idea. It led to me digging into the recesses of the Internet and trying to find a record of the first time I saw both bands. And... I found a review of said-show hosted on a fucking Angelfire site! Hah! Fuck, I'm old.
So PJ got into this dance contest with this other kid who was really enjoying himself the whole show, but the other kid most did some hardcore moves like picking up rocks or whatever the hell they pick up when they dance like they dropped their beanies. PJ clearly beat that kid with his white tornado dance (insanely funny shit), but then a girl came up and contended his title. She actually did a backflip, so I'll give her some credit, but on a whole I think it's like Tyler said, "Being a heterosexual male, I'm voting for the girl". PJ was robbed!! a true time capsule
It seems Thursday and The Homeless Gospel Choir are opening the MCR shows right before and right after Riot, so they are a possibility (although Thursday played last year)
We left Tenacious D early to see Snoop last time they played (obviously a huge mistake) because I felt it was more likely that I would have another opportunity to see them than Snoop. So I would be happy with them playing. And I would be absolutely ecstatic with Midtown and MC5. They would definitely both be top 10 for the lineup for me regardless of who else is playing. Edit: I’ve been wanting to see MC50 since it started but it hasn’t worked out for me yet. I’m kind of surprised they haven’t played Riot Fest this year and hope that this will be the year!
Story of the Year was the third band announced for Blue Ridge that apparently haven't played the East Coast since 2013.. so I was actually right for once about it being a band on WWWY
nice call! i wouldnt have even thought of them because they are from here in st. louis and still play all the damn time around town, wouldnt have thought its been that long since they toured the rest of the country
