Bunch of morning updates, I'll just update this post with anything additional... Puscifer is out, Chicago show July 7... I always thought A Perfect Circle was the most likely Maynard project to play Riot, but it would probably be a one off show because I think that's middle of wine season and he works at his vineyard Elvis Costello & Nick Lowe don't have a Chicago date listed on their late summer tour, but the press release says more tour dates to be announced The Hu don't have a Chicago date, but I'm thinking they play Lolla Propaghandi has shows in Canada a few days before Riot, but no US dates.. but I guess depending on the state of the world they could be possible? Kurt Vile is out, in Europe during Riot Bob Mould doesn't have any Chicago dates on his next 2 US stints, I'm definitely going with a possible on him unless he's on Lolla or Pitchfork of course Sound on Sound a week after Riot has 3 artists that have played Riot: Ziggy Marley (err nevermind I think several of his brothers & nephew played), Father John Misty, & the National.. not sure if anyone else is worth mentioning (unless Riot's whacky random booking this year is Spin Doctors), but here's the link.. it's also on the tour prediction page but for reference anyway https://consequence.net/2022/02/sound-on-sound-festival-2022-lineup/
I'd love to see Costello again, especially since his new record is so good. Propagandhi would be rad but I always assumed they weren't open to festivals with corporate sponsors.
It's outside of the 90 day radius, but I'd agree they are probably out He makes a ton of sense as someone to book opposite either MCR or Misfits or possibly even whoever ends up being the third headliner.
Yeah, I’m surprised APC hasn’t played. Although I could see Tool headlining eventually And Ziggy hasn’t played Riot before? That’s weird
Yeah they have a bunch of us dates in April may and June but no tour poster or anything official on any of their social media pages edit this went up 7 min ago
I didn't see his name on any of the poster lineups.. his brothers Damian, Stephen & Julian have all played.. and Skip (nephew)
Just saw. Bummed the only date near me is a festival that already sold out. Dying to see them again :(
I’d take this post with a grain of salt, but it looks like Toby Morse is hinting a possible Hazen Street reunion? He says in the comments that he’s “testing the waters” to see if there’s interest. That would be an interesting add to Riot if it were to happen
That tour would be really cool if Madball weren't involved hah. But still, I'd love to see H2O and Hazen Street at Riot! (Or just touring in general.)
As dumb as Madball is, I did see them last week ( to see the locals open) and they at least still bring it
Are they still refusing to play shows that require vaccines? That aside: Would you say that they really SET IT OFF live still?
It would be cool if they could get Chad Gilbert to do Hazen Street. Probably comes at the expense of someone else more recently in the band.
Yeah I guess it all depends on NFG’s touring schedule after the S&S 20-year tour, but that would be pretty cool!
Definitely depends on those touring schedules. But considering he started the band with Toby and NFG is no longer on Geffen, it would be cool to see him get to play some of those songs he helped write, craft, and record.
Alright, this might be a stretch, but… Glassjaw announced the support for their upcoming anniversary shows. A single dot next to a date means they’re only playing one album, and two means they’re playing both albums (being EYWTKAS and WxT) Chicago was supposed to be a dual album-play date, but it now appears that they’ll only be doing one album at that date (there’s only a single dot listed next to Chicago) Theory: Glassjaw will do WxT only at said Chicago show, and Riot snagged then to a EYWTKAS album-play Go ahead, cue that Charlie Kelly meme
I COULD be overthinking this though… haha. It appears that the same thing happened to the Pomona date too, which I’m kinda bummed about since I was gonna sell both of my LA tickets and hit up that show instead. But we’ll see how it plays out, I guess
It seems they dont have an opening act for Chicago, that's odd too, although Denver and Brooklyn doesn't have opener neither. For what it's worth, Glassjaw played WxT at Riot 2019, so I wont be surprised if they play EYWTKAS at their Chicago show in March
That’s the odd thing too. The only shows on this tour that don’t have openers are shows where they’re playing both albums. Pomona having an opener definitely means that they’re doing one album, but Chicago having no opener is odd…
I was thinking that, but their shows at NJ, Worcester and Silver Spring are both albums and those shows have 2 openers
