Woah! Lineup so far rules! I really wanna go to this but the tickets are pretty expensive. Wish I could make this
Yup, I'm sure it mostly had to do with the headache of booking and being a independently run festival.. moving it from May to September last year, then turning around and booking the festival again for May of this year was probably chaotic also it's weird that it appears you have to buy a hotel room in the package for that Tony Hawk festival.. I mean, what if you live in Las Vegas or a million other reasons
That’s too bad. I was never able to go but PRB always seemed like such a cool festival to me. Hope they get back on their feet or maybe just push it to September again. That’s what a lot of people on Instagram seem to want… And yeah. Even with hotel packages, and even with a group of friends going it just doesn’t seem like an affordable festival… Was hoping to get a group together or something but I doubt I could pull it off
Cool that he's bringing that back! I remember he had a tour like this back in like 2002-2003. It was at arenas with a huge half pipe and a stage.
I know Orville Peck playing Chicago June 1 doesn't rule him out, but I'd probably lean to him not on the bill.. I guess it could happen but he doesn't have any dates listed for after July, so he may not even be in the country for Riot
Just realized Elliot is back and playing False Cathedrals at Furnace Fest. They’d be a great add for Riot, since a lot of those 90’s emo bands haven’t been booked in a while (or I mean, really play anymore). They’d be a solid choice to play the same day as MCR, or if Riot gets the SDRE reunion
Foo Fighters released a bunch of additional tour dats and have no Chicago dates coming up (yet, wouldn't be shocked if they end up playing Fenway) but are playing South Dakota, Sept 18th (the Sunday of Riot) There is absolute zero chance they were gonna play the Friday or Saturday, so they are officially out for now But I have changed my opinion on them never playing Riot to maybe they'll play in like 10 years
Weren't they a last minute add in 2018?, and I don't think they played 2016 If they aren't on the lineup and someone falls out.. TBS is one of the first to be getting a phone call
They didnt play in 2016 but they played an aftershow at the Metro. I wonder if they werent at the actual fest because Brand New was there
I'm not entirely sure, but they played a Chicago show on June 3 that year with Dashboard & Saosin... so maybe the after show was a late booking
I think TBS is like GWAR and AWK. If they want to play, they're in regardless of the last time they played.
They were a very late addition in 2018 (they played Chicago in July that year with Coheed). In 2016, they were probably added after the fact and just slotted into an aftershow. The radius clause stuff is very subjective, so I'm not ruling them out of Riot completely but I do think if they are added, it'll be announced after they play in July with 3EB (ie whenever the schedule comes out) because venues like Huntington Beach Pavilion probably have a clause/contract where you can't announce other shows in the market until after that July date edit: I just noticed it is in July and not June, so I'm not really sure how it will effect Riot but they can obviously be added at some point after the July show hope that makes sense lol
