This Vegas festival is fucking me up lol I would love to go but even after removing the bands that played the last couple of Riots, there almost has to be immense overlap and I already bought my Riot 22 pass. At least the tickets are only supposed to increase $20 after presale.
Obviously tons of bands there I'd love to see on Riot Fest, but Acceptance, Armor For Sleep, and Avril are the main ones I haven't seen yet or don't already have a ticket to see this year.
I still really feel like Avril won't pop up on Riot's line-up. This is a different beast aesthetically and leans way more Warped Tour. I just really don't see it being top of her list of priorities by any stretch... Especially with Lolla being another viable option. That being said, the line-up is so stacked that I didn't even see the HorrorPops on there! They would be an awesome Riot Fest add. Give 'em an early evening/late afternoon slot on Rebel.
Honestly once you calm down because all the logos are all flashy and fun on the poster.... this isn't all that wacky compared to riot fest. Avril instead of misfits ...and maybe instead of 20 scene bands, it's 20 more punk bands/indie/new wave
Also it’s insane that’s all In just one day, it’s going to have to be like eight stages in the overlap is going to be painful.. Essentially a warped tour lol
But that's exactly why it's able to explode so many millennial heads hahah Riot is an easy festival to love going to because of the somehow-cohesive diversity in the lineup. For everyone I was friends with in high school, this is unadulterated adolescence straight to the face. I was looking at the ticket info and would you believe it's THREE stages?
That was my first thought too! The logistics would be insane and I'd be interested in flying out for that if there weren't going to be a MILLION conflicts.
I doubt Riot Fest is too concerned about this. As much as there's going to be some overlap, I would imagine it accounts for 30% or less of the total Riot Fest line-up.
Hmm maybe. But hey, I know I'm only going to 1 of these. If I buy tickets on Friday, which I plan on doing, that's 1 less riot fest person But alas. You're right, riot fest will still definitely get theres
I think outside of the bands that played riot fest last year most like 70% of the Vegas fest will be at riot fest this year
Looking at last year's poster: Coheed, MCS, the Sounds, MM@TA, TBS, Mayday Parade, Bayside, State Champs, Andrew W.K., Four Year Strong, Citizen, Just Friends, Bearings, MGK, NFG, Simple Plan, the Ghost Inside, Thursday, Knuckle Puck, 3OH!3, Fever 333, and KennyHoopla would all be viable for that festival. That's 22 / ~95 bands (~23%) of the full line-up. If you exclude the artists that played Riot last year it's a bit less than that. So definite overlap. But nothing too wild. That WWYF caters almost exclusively to the Warped Tour 2009 to whatever year it ended crowd. Riot? Not so much.
Some of my Mexico friends who were excited about Riot 2022 just scrapped their trip to Chicago and are planning on going to this one even if its more expensive and just 1 day. I can see lot of people that can only do 1 festival a year going to this instead of Riot
They are fun nostalgia but as an STL native they fell off a cliff when they kicked out Moon and became a 4 piece
Not sure if Riot Fet Twitter person is salty or just being themselves, but they are really active today
