Trying to sell my 3-day pass last minute is a nightmare. If anyone here is interested let me know what you can pay and its yours.
Merch is here! Thinking on buying the 3D shirt or the black puma one https://riotfest.org/2022/09/14/her...il&utm_term=0_af918f16c4-9bb386bd15-135288616
I'm weirdly annoyed at the Stranger Things style shirt (I hated it on the show because it just seemed like something they just added for merchandising purposes. I know RF has had that devil-style for a long time, but still. I don't know, I'm old and everything annoys me these days haha) but the football helmet one is pretty fresh.
Currently on my drive up listening to the podcast 60s songs that explain the 90s and it’s the episode about closer by Nin and it’s getting me so hyped
In my head I read this as some conspiracy theory about The Beatles Please Please me being played backwards & predicting who shot Biggie & Tupac lol
Two more hours of work and it’s time to head to Chicago. Oh and one final weather update for this thread
Hanging at the shedd aquarium for the first time, it’s so so cool. Chicago is such a cool city and I love coming here.
What is everyone doing for cash/cards? That's been the nice thing about Lolla and Pitchfork because you know everyone will take a card. I don't recall if Riot Fest was cashfree last year but this year it seems they aren't.
I’ve thought about moving here a lot haha. It’s the only city I’ve ever visited that I felt like that. It’s also a hub for food manufacturing, a lot of companies I’d love to work for are out here. I just bought a house and put down some serious roots for the next few years, but I do want to end up here at some point.
I say this as someone born and raised - it's tough to leave. I've entertained it, seriously went to look at homes, and yet I've never done it. It's too great.
Jealous of everyone already in transit or at their hotels and stuff. I'm off work today but getting everything ready while my girlfriend works a 14-hour day (the sole reason we didn't fly out today, hah). She'll be getting home at 10:30 or so... Just in time to pass out for a few hours before we have to wake up for our flight at 4:45am. Real glad we didn't opt for any after shows this year. We're gonna be wiped by the end of Friday, hah. Any particularly highlights/how much time did you spend there? We have tickets for noon on Tuesday with our flight at 5 o'clock so time will be limited. Two hours is enough for most aquariums, but it seems like there's a lot in there. Haha.
Yeah I’d say two hours is fine, Chicago traffic is worse than pre pandemic though so you’ll definitely not want to linger to make your flight, particularly if going to Ohare
Fuck this traffic so fucking hard. I want the pandemic days back when I could zip downtown in 10-15 minutes.
Looks like it's going to be the nicest weather for Riot Fest for as long as I can recall. We'll see if that rain on Sunday matters but if it does, I expect you all to throw mud during March of the Pigs.
Awesome, thanks! The plan is to be out of there by 1:45 or so. I think we budgeted ~75 minutes or so to get to O'Hare. Knowing us and our anxiety we'll probably blow through the place in like, 60-75 minutes just to be absolutely sure. Haha.
After visitin for Riot 2017 and 2018 I decided and moved here in 2019. I love it so much in here, it makes me sad knowing Im moving back to Mexico after Riot.
i was there for about 3 hours, I really loved the oceanarium part with the dolphins and penguins. I got to feed/pet a sting Ray and that was really cool! I went through it pretty quickly because I was by myself but I did get to see all the rooms!
Just found out that tomorrow will be the 7th anniversary of me moving to the US. What a way to celebrate 7 years ago I could count the number of concerts I went to on 2 hands... Life is good
