For local folks or anyone getting into town Wednesday and willing to go out to the suburbs: https://www.andersonsbookshop.com/event/joe-trohman-person
I am really having a hard time with JEW and Save Face. It's heartbreaking. I have seen both bands 3-4 times but it's still so hard to decide.
I wonder how many people will get there that early on a Friday just to see them. I am one of these people.
If it helps, there have been sexual assault allegations against someone in Save Face (discussed in their album thread at one point if you want to go read it).
Had no idea, will go look now Edit: This makes my decision much easier now, thanks. Still weird how a band like SLS took them on tour with them if something like this was hanging over them.
Sincere Engineer is really great - Deanna's voice translates really well live - but if you're a local you'll probably have a ton of chances to catch them. Though you might regret missing the corn dog moshpit...
im excited for the corndog moshpit becasue i love the yearly kitschy-pit, but also the older i get the more i am hyperaware of unneeded risk, and i cant get the image of someone getting a corn dog stick to the eye, mouth or throat out of my head. still going to do it, just cautiously, hahah
Same. I've become my father, standing on the side being entertained watching the youngin's doing dumb stuff. I'll have a corndog in hand though. Related: with SE being basically one of the first bands out of the gate, the vendors better have a ton ready to go.
Sincere Engineer I've seen twice and they're solid, but they definitely do tour a lot. I'd probably lean Pale Waves and then catch the rest of SE when they're done.
Is there a Facebook group for the corn dog pit? I hate to be negative but this one kind of rubs me the wrong way. Idk I know there is already a lot of waste going on that weekend but the idea of people wasting a bunch of food by throwing it around just irks me. And people already yell enough for the corn dog song at her sets. I know it’s supposed to be fun and be a support thing, but I don’t love it personally. I do think it would be funny if she didn’t play the song but that def won’t happen. I will be watching Pale Waves since I have never seen them and get to see sincere a lot so I guess this rambling doesn’t matter.
I've seen it happen before and people just hold their corndogs up and run around in a circle. I think people eat them too, so the only waste would be the stick afterwards, if that makes it any better?
Figured I'd ask, is anyone going to Four Chord in Pittsburgh this weekend? I'm going Saturday with a friend.
SE definitely knows about the corn dog pit and has mentioned online, she is hyped for it, maybe even a little honored to be the recipient of the specialty pit, haha i said to SE and riot on twitter a few days ago that the corn dog vendor should be made aware and stocked, but who knows if they saw it or care i plan on hitting that vendor as soon as i get in and getting 3 or 4 (1 to eat right away, 1 for myself in the pit and the rest to hand out to anyone who didnt get one)
She's been jokingly shared a screenshot of the FB "event" on her instagram stories so that makes me think they will play it (it is their 3rd most streamed song) so i think its all in good fun.
This time next week I'll have just seen Sincere Engineer and I'll be on my way to catch a few songs from LS Dunes before heading over to Rebel for Cliffdiver. Let's fucking goooo!
in exactly 1 week ill know the answer ive been wondering "will LS Dunes do all new stuff, or throw in a couple covers?" on my FB i started my week-out count down of the 7 songs im most excited to see. started with Maps.
I think LS Dunes will probably play all their own stuff, but I wouldn't complain if they brought Geoff out to do a Thursday song.
I will be walking with you from LS Dunes to Cliffdiver. I feel like they're gonna open with New Vegas Bomb & that's probably my favorite song that's been released in 2022, I can't miss it
Riot folk, lend me your opinions! On Saturday, the 2pm slot is still a conundrum for me. I've been really digging all these artists a lot of the last couple months, but I can't decide who to go with (and I'm not much of a set splitter, I'd rather watch a whole thing if possible). The Joy Formidable, Charlotte Sands, Bully or Thick?
Saturday is my sleep in day so I'm getting there for Get Up Kids, that being said i would do Joy Formidable
