Gogol Bordello are active in their support for Ukraine so no surprise there. I think some of them were born over there.
Cool with this, have wanted to check out Sparta live and GB always puts on a really fun show. I don't get sick of "Start wearing purple" live. Though interested if they're just slotting them into the Bauhaus/Placebo spots.
Happy to see Sparta, but them vs Jeff Rosenstock is actually a hard choice for me. Gogol Bordello's live show rules. I've never listened to their albums but I'm always excited to catch them at a fest if I have a little free time. Whether I see the beginning of their set depends on how close I want to get for SDRE.
schedule on the website shows yes they are just sliding into the open spots (sparta for placebo & gogol for bauhas), though i dont see that dj on the sunday schedule anywhere.
I know it's not easy to do & that it's impossible to make everyone happy, and I don't go full on negative often...but jesus christ those replacements are extremely lackluster for who dropped
TBH it's a huge downgrade from 2 bands who haven't performed for years in the states (up until 2022).
Don't think I needed an internet connection for it at the actual festival. Was just nice to have the map/schedule/info all in once place haha
Sparta's a cool addition, but it won't change my day at all. Still gonna watch the first half of Jeff, then a bunch of RFTC before the Descendents. Gogol Bordello is a massive upgrade for my Saturday evening, but understand why a certain number of Bauhaus fans are going to be pretty upset.
gogol fits squarely in the Coheed/rise against camp where they are a great band, great live show, always fun.., but their frequency of appearance has taken away from the impact as an add
