Yeah, that's what I meant but didn't articulate well. A general message of "war is bad; peace is good; people are suffering" that sorta thing. Which... Is super apolitical. It's just humanitarian. (And I know I'm preaching to the choir on this, but the stupidity is beyond anything I can cope with today. Haha.)
Is it possible that Mercyful Fate is the Bauhaus replacement? They were in Vegas recently and have an upcoming tour here. They do stop in Gary in November, which I can see being a hiccup. But they may have their visas in order to perform here, and seem like a pretty logical replacement.
Speaking of Gary, has Gary Numan been discussed as a replacement? He's currently touring with his final current date being 9/11 in Minneapolis. It seems his fanbase would have at least a little overlap with that of Bauhaus, at least more than a lot of other possible replacements.
I kinda doubt they'd fly back to the US for a single September show when they have a proper US tour coming up later in the fall.
Looking at some responses it likely won’t be, but one can dream. This is really possible. Also, do you think Riot would book two smaller bands if they can’t find a band the size of Bauhaus? For example, Riot booked Gary Numan and Killing Joke to replace Bauhaus.
Really hoping Alkaline Trio plays "Warbrain" and inserts a band playing the festival in at least one of the verses. Also wonder if Matt will shout the "Put Walk Among Us on and turn it up" part a little louder than usual. Man, I'm starting to get amped! EDIT: Dave Lombardo also accidentally leaked the set list the other day. It's here for anybody wanting it.
i think, depending on how massive the misfits crowd is, i may be able to sneak in the first 5-6 songs from ocean avenue inbetween replacement band A and misfits, because i dont care thaaaat much about see all of walk among us but want to hear most everything else.
i noticed is on the riot website when you click on "see the schedule" Placebo is still on there, but the Bauhaus spot is blank. means nothing, but mildly interesting.
Had a similar thought about Yellowcard but kinda feel like I just want to be there and enjoy all of the Misfits. Depends on how the crowd is though. The first half of Ocean Avenue would be super fun to see live.
I’m thinking I’ll have my partner come with me tomorrow when I have my appointment and ask. Can’t hurt.
I'm getting the feeling Motion City may get added for Friday - tour wrapping up and will be heading home
Pure Noise and Smartpunk next to each other, my wallet says no but my body says yes. Always find good records for a good price in there.
