Just to push further the NIN setup theory: Primavera LA posted their schedule and NIN finish their set at 10.15pm, which will be 12.15am in Chicago. Adding the tearing down and unloading time, traveling to LAX and the 4 hour flight to Chicago... I really wonder what time NIN crew will be arriving to Douglass.
Odd question but figured someone in here could answer - with VIP they mention 5 drink tickets for 3-day pass holders. I imagine this means 5 for the entire weekend and not 5 per day, right? I feel @alkalinexandy would know this answer haha
BAUHAUS CANCELS REMAINING TOUR DATES IN NORTH AMERICA AUGUST 31, 2022 (New York. NY) --It is with the utmost regret that the Bauhaus performances in North America have been canceled for the remainder of the year. Following a string of critically-hailed reunion shows across continents, Peter Murphy will be entering a rehabilitation facility to attend to his health and well-being. Please contact your point of purchase regarding ticket refunds.
They were scheduled for a festival in NYC that weekend that's been postponed.. you might not be wrong
wellllllll shit. was looking forward to that one, but health comes first. Flaming lips sound like the easy move for riot, but if i had my drothers id be calling Mr. Patton and see if Faith no More is ready.
Rise against isn’t doing anything and as much as I don’t want them to be added I could totally see them being added again for a 2nd straight year
They played last year and 2019 and have played the area a bunch over the last year. 3 times in Chicago plus 2 in Milwaukee
I live in the South.. I didn't go to Riot last year, I went to Riot in 2019 but didn't go the Saturday to meet a friend
if its not FNM, i hope its a fresh booking and not someone thats not an obvious go-to. (RA, lips, anthrax, alkaline trio playing twice..etc..)
I have a feeling it will be them depending on who they call and who could fill the 725-825 time slot that is now open
What about the Pixies? Similar(ish) fanbase and they were meant to play last year but cancelled... Would also fit in that time slot. And they're free that weekend.
tenacious D is still out there in the area too. theres actually a solid amount of possibilities to fill a 2nd stage closer position
Theory: Maybe that’s why they weren’t on the lineup this year despite their tour routing perfectly lining up, because Riot booked them as a replacement in case anyone dropped
FWIW, I recall Faith No More announcing they'd be taking time off this year for mental health reasons. Kinda doubting it'll be them who steps in. As for Rise Against, I kinda feel like they'd be saving them as an absolute last resort. Much bigger stylistic leap between them and Bauhaus than them and Faith No More. Definitely! Wouldn't be the best replacement in terms of draw or stylistic similarities but... Close enough, I guess? Similar to RA, though, I feel like there's other acts they might reach out to first. Another thought: What about the MC5?
