Friday: Pale Waves -> (Sincere Engineer) -> LS Dunes -> Boston Manor -> Foxy Shazam -> (Hot Mulligan) -> Anberlin -> Jeff Rosenstock -> Descendents -> (TWY/TBS/Cloud Nothings) -> Bleachers -> My Chemical Romance Saturday: Mannequin Pussy -> (Charlotte Sands or Bully) -> The Get Up Kids -> Movements -> The Menzingers -> The Front Bottoms -> (The Story So Far) -> (Sunny Day Real Estate) -> Yellowcard (probably but kind of torn with Misfits) Sunday: Mom Jeans. -> Less Than Jake -> Coolio -> (PVRIS) -> Jimmy Eat World -> (Midtown) -> The Maine -> (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) -> The Academy Is... Stuff in parenthesis is who I play to go to partially or am undecided. Biggest conflicts are The Wonder Years overlapping with Descendents, Bleachers butting right up to MCR on a different stage, Front Bottoms overlapping with TSSF, Yellowcard during Misfits, and the Maine during Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with how this turned out!
Only 1 conflict for me, Save Face and Jimmy Eat World. Really torn between these 2 but will probably go with JEW
Friday (this looks so stacked): Sincere Engineer -> LS Dunes -> Cliffdiver -> last part of Boston Manor -> Hot Mulligan -> Anberlin -> Jeff Rosenstock -> slam like 3 corn dogs -> Wonder Years -> some mix of TBS/Bleachers/Marky Ramone -> MCR Saturday (blah): TGUK? -> AOF? -> Zingers? -> Front Bottoms -> GWAR -> Part of SDRE -> Part of Yellowcard -> Go home and rest up for JEW aftershow Sunday: Mom Jeans -> Juliana Theory -> LTJ -> Coolio (he has to play Ganstas Paradise at the end of the set right?) -> crush a bucket of noodles -> Midtown -> YYY -> The Academy Is...
There used to be a website where people would put in schedules of festivals and you could download it, anyone remember what it was called?
After looking at the map from last year (assuming they keep it the same), I already know I'm gonna walk across the grounds a hundred times if I stick to this schedule.
Man, just looking at this schedule is making my heart super happy. There's' conflicts and all that... But if you had told my 20 year-old self that there would be a day where I'd be able to see the lead singer from Arrogant Sons of Bitches perform a festival main stage as a solo artist followed by Rocket from the Crypt, the Descendents, Taking Back Sunday, Alkaline Trio, and My Chemical Romance in that order... I'm pretty sure his head would have exploded with excitement.
Also kinda interested to see what's going on Saturday between 2:30 - 2:50. Obviously something Ukraine related.
Yeah, it's a Ukraine tribute. The interactive schedule on the web site says it directly. Though it also says it's 2:30-2:45 on there. EDIT: My best guess is that it'll be some sort of speaker and an attempt at an extended moment of silence. I really hope they reconcile the schedules between those two... It's gonna drive me nuts until they do. It's just that time and one stage on Sunday that are off, as far as I can tell. but still.
Boring refers to the headliners Saturday and mainly NIN Sunday because I’ve never been able to get into them haha
My tentative plan. This is the most packed my schedule has been in years. Very few total conflicts but lots of running between Rise and Radical. Friday Pale Waves Sincere Engineer (partial) Lunch LS Dunes Boston Manor Foxy Shazam Hot Mulligan (partial) Anberlin Jeff Rosenstock or Placebo (depending on who my wife wants to see) The Wonder Years Portugal. The Man (partial) Bleachers My Chemical Romance Saturday Mannequin Pussy (partial) No Trigger The Joy Formidable or Charlotte Sands (haven’t heard either before) The Get Up Kids Movements Alexisonfire (partial) The Menzingers Madball (partial) The Story So Far Sunny Day Real Estate Yellowcard (partial) Sunday The Bombpops Treaty of Paris The Juliana Theory Less Than Jake Coolio Jimmy Eat World Midtown Sleater-Kinney (partial) Yeah Yeah Yeahs The Academy Is… Nine Inch Nails (partial)
my crude first pass, and only 4 areas of uncertainty which isnt bad. -friday afternoon placebo vs rftc vs jeff R vs bob V. none are MUSTs but all are good so ill have a good time no matter who I chose - friday night im leaning towards all of PtM, but want to see a bit of bleachers or alk3 -sunday afternoon linda lindas vs joey V is probably my worst one of the whole weekend which isnt bad, leaning towards LL but up for debate -jimmy eat world vs alice glass, leaning towards jimmy but alice seems awesome. - i consider foxy shazam vs wargasm as a bad conflict but foxy wins out 100% of the time, but sad to lose wargasm the layout on sunday is so goofy, first main stage act not until 250 is weird with all 4 other stages in direct conflict up until then? bizarre... this is BY FAR the most time ill spend over at radical in all the years ive been going, even with not even going once on sunday.
Sunday kinda feels like an artist they hadn't yet announced dropped or they had to move somebody around. That might actually explain the difference in Ice Cube's start time (7:30 on the web site; 8:00 on the image) and the placement of certain acts stage designation wise. Would honestly not be mad if they plugged PVRIS into a Riot stage slot and bumped up LTJ so I could see more Lunachicks, hah.
Only really sore spot of the weekend is Bad Religion vs. TFB vs. TSSF vs. Madball for me. I expected Yellowcard and Misfits, still not really sure what I should do there A couple other conflicts that I don't mind splitting, leaving early or getting late to Descendents I'm luckily seeing a few days before so I don't mind that conflict, Bleachers is coming here a couple days after as well which softens the blow on not seeing them. Cloud Nothings I see all the time, as they're local so I'll probably just head to TBS after TWY although I wanted to see them in this setting Sunday will be a nice day to bop around and check out a lot of everything. Only will probably watch full sets from Less Than Jake and Midtown
Yeah the late Friday afternoon through early evening rock block is my biggest conflict, along with the Saturday closers.
Recognizing that some of this timing is off, I’m pretty much thrilled :) One of my worst conflicts is Linda Lindas vs. JV & Brae so if that’s actually staggered I’m even more happy haha Asterisks for sets I’ll only be able to see part of, assuming I or my group makes the effort to see it at all on the day of — Friday 12:30-1:00 - Holy Fawn *1:00-1:30 - LS Dunes *1:15-1:45 - Cliffdiver *1:25-2:25 - Lucky Boys Confusion 2:00-2:45 - Foxy Shazam *2:30-3:15 - Hot Mulligan 3:15-3:45 - Algiers *4-5:00 - Jeff Rosenstock 4:15-4:45 - Bob Vylan *4:10-5:10 - Placebo 5:15-5:45 - Destroy Boys 5:45-6:45 - The Wonder Years *6:20-7:20 - TBS *7-8 - Portugal. Seems pretty likely The Maine and Charlotte Sands come out during Taking Back Sunday for Loved You A Little (or vice versa during the Maine's set)
I wish the Academy Is... would've got an hour and 15, feel like I'm going to end up regretting not going to the aftershow
Ls dunes is Vocals - Anthony Green (Circa Survive, Saosin, The Sound of Animals Fighting) Guitar - Frank Iero (My Chemical Romance, Leathermouth) & Travis Stever (Coheed and Cambria) Bass - Tim Payne Drums - (Thursday, Saetia)
I just thought about the big gap on the Riot Stage on Sunday. As NIN is playing in LA the night before, they might require time to prep all their stage production and will need those extra hours after doors open.
