Does anyone know what the deal is with splitting tickets up at will call? If I arrive earlier than my partner, can I just give them her name for that second pass? Should I email ahead? Never had to deal with this before, so curious if anybody else has!
From what it sounds like on twitter, JER of skatune network & we are the union may be part of the SKA DREAM aftershow live band!
All I’m saying is that it seems like Jeff has a free night in chicago the same night as the pizza party that hasn’t announced its line up yet
*points into the outfield like babe ruth* The Pop Punk Pizzka Party feat. Jeff Rosenstock w/ special guests We Are The Union, JER, & Cliffdiver No I have not looked at tour dates of any of the bands
I kinda feel like they'll probably be playing with him for at least a few songs during the festival too. But that's super rad, regardless of whether that's accurate or not! Haha.
You might want to temper your expectations. The headliners are usually like Flatliners/Kali Masi/Direct Hit sized. IIOI last year was easily the biggest headliner they’ve ever had, and I don’t think we’ll get someone that big again this year. The biggest I could see would be maybe Save Face if they get into town a night early.
The Polish food stand is the move there. potato pancakes fill you up for the day no problem. It's also consistently the shortest line
Based on past years, I'd say the Bombpops, Save Face, Cliffdiver, or No Trigger are all in play for the Pop-Punk Pizza Party (and probably in that level of likelihood). Am I missing any possibilities?
Y'know, I almost said Sincere Engineer too. Then weirdly thought "not pop-punk enough." But yeah. That's a possibility too!
I’m hoping Sincere Engineer is opening the Alkaline Trio show since JaytotheGee put that idea in my head! So I don’t want them to be announced for the pizza party.
I think IIOI was an odd choice last year and I think Sincere Engineer would be an odd choice for this year. The whole concept of a Pop Punk Pizza Party is kinda rooted in 2010s high energy party pop punk. I think bands like Set Your Goals or Driveways would be perfect for it. the more introspective Midwest Emo inspired bands seem sort of antithetical to something that is ideally a very silly party.
The list of headliners from past years doesn't really fall under the "2010s high energy party pop-punk" vibe at all. If anything, it's more "2010s Fat Wreck." Direct Hit!, Bad Cop/Bad Cop, the Flatliners, etc. The openers are usually from that same school too: Jacob Horn Trio, Elway, Pkew Pkew Pkew, etc. II/OI was an exception last year, but I dunno. Spiritually and aesthetically, they are very much in the same vein as the bands I just listed off. And Sincere Engineer is even closer.
When they did two nights of the pizza party last year, the Dopamines/Blind Adam night was way more in line with the typical pizza party than the IIOI night.

Jer played all of the previous Ska Dream shows too! I think they're just part of the Jeff Ska band permanently Ahhhh you know what, No Trigger definitely makes the most sense, I would bet money it's them. If they play Cayoneer that would be fucking awesome, as they seem to be hinting at that for Fest
I feel like we might see some of these shows sell out after the schedule drops, dependent on conflicts. Particularly SDRE, AOF, and Anberlin.
I've seen a couple people posting about it in the Fest facebook group, but also not sure how they know lol
Oh. The Fest. Haha. I thought you were saying they'd be doing at "the fest," as in at Riot. That makes way more sense! Haha.
If I can’t get a JEW aftershow ticket I might go for a Bully ticket, but I also am planning on going to at least one day of the festival and I can’t spend that much $$$ so we’ll see. I’m surprised Bully isn’t sold out considering they sold out three nights at the same venue last summer.
