Would love to see Taking Back Sunday on main stage this year (if they're playing Friday, have it go TBS --> Alk3 --> MCR) instead of closing a side stage.
Would TBS not come after Alk3? I’m probably wrong but also, I definitely feel like that’s the breathing from Makedamnsure
We were wondering where all the wild Reddit takes went, and apparently they are in the solo Riotfest group chat because since that teaser dropped I’ve seen speculation on it being op ivy and Red Hot Chili Peppers, lol cmon dudes we literally have 3 bonafide headliners
What if TBS is the house band or something. They play all three days, a different album each day and like an aftershock or something.
I wouldn’t expect anything too shocking with the band that’s being teased is the most obvious add possible.
With the way things are with shows/festivals in general, I expect a "Unfortunately (1-2 bands) are unable to perform at RF22, but we are happy to announce that we're adding (3-5) to this year's lineup!".
So yeah. Maybe it's a few more bands. One of which is almost certainly Taking Back Sunday. It could also be the aftershows... With Taking Back Sunday headlining one of those. I also like the idea of TBS doing the festival all three days on various stages, but I kinda don't think that's happening. Haha. Another guess, that could tie to some of the "big news" Riot Mike was talking about that's been in the works for a few years... What about a Riot Fest documentary? The movie reel tease would make sense. And Taking Back Sunday has been a big enough part of their history that having them as the "teaser" band would make a bit of sense maybe. EDIT: Had a look on Twitter and apparently there's somebody who spoke to TBS at one of the recent shows and they told them they were getting added. Tweet looks to be from a kid so I won't link it here but... They put asterisks instead of the band name and basically said Riot confirmed what they thought might be a lie with a breath or something.
So, I know it’s late and call me crazy but I put the RF post sound up again the Makedamnsure sound and they are exactly the same… I’ll be surprised if it’s not about them. I just hope we get someone else who surprised me like Armor For Sleep, Cartel, La Dispute or something.
There's a Chicago date on the La Dispute tour and they have shows all three days of the festival, unfortunately. I'm so bummed about it because I'm in Chicago both Michigan dates.
After seeing TBS on the current tour with 3EB, I would be fine never seeing them again. Adam is just really bad live now and I have been seeing them for almost 20 years.
I feel bad because one person in my group hasn't seen them in over a decade and will likely end up watching them fart it up all alone. Really crossing my fingers that they overlap with someone I'm excited for!
My prediction: TBS Viagra Boys (Some rap act) Four Year Strong (playing Enemy of the World) Pinkshift Eve 6 Driveways
Seems reasonable and this would make me happy enough! Is VB on your list because they have an intuitive touring gap?
Elliot would be really great on the inevitable Jimmy Eat World/Midtown/Juliana Theory stage. Maybe between Midtown and Juliana Theory? I'm not convinced that's going to happen but... I would love it!
Yes. I remember before the first wave, everyone thought them and Tenacious D were locks. I’m guessing we still don’t get Tenacious D, but I think VB are very likely
Just curious, does anyone know what day last year we got more bands? I remember it was the day that Citizen got added.
