Hell yea. give me Tenacious D and Amyl & the sniffers or BUST. they were the only 2 bands i had as 'locks' that i was wrong about.

I thought AAR were a lock too, so was kinda shocked when they weren't there.

 

I honestly won’t even be that disappointed if I don’t care about the additional bands. I am already going to have enough conflicts as it is.

 

I've had a flight watch on for months, just got a notification & booked my flight from NYC for $130 roundtrip, LFG

I sure hope they don't wait until after the TBS show in July to announce more bands lol

 

I'm looking at southwest right now and might be able to get me and the wife for right around $300 round trip total. Hadn't considered flying because I love the drive, hut doing the drive from PA if gas keeps going up just isn't worth it. Think we'll be flying this year, haha

 

That's def not bad! Unfortunately we're not taking any road trips anytime soon either, it really sucks

 

Yeah, I really love driving (even if it's just a straight shot on the Turnpike) but spending over 24 hours on the road with gas and tolls, I think we'll definitely fly this year. Hadn't even thought about it until I saw your post, so thank you!

 

Weird, I got the e-mails on the 2nd and 3rd about the "Shit" Merch and the Scavenger Hunt, but doesn't look like I got this one. Oh well, I re-signed-up just in case. As for being almost sold out on 3 day passes, good for RF. Everything I've heard is that most festivals aren't selling well this year, uncertainty around the lineups, the economy, gas prices, etc. But the amount of MCR holdovers from 2020 plus the loyal yearly attendees must've helped. Hopefully it helps fund the "surprises" and bring some fun additions to the lineup. Just don't whine about FOMO if they announce it all after they officially sell out; you have been warned lol.

 

So this is a thing happening this weekend.

 

If I had to make a bet I’d bet this doesn’t go ahead.

Endangered birds cancelled an EDM festival three years ago. Legitimate and organized resistance by an already marginalized community, during an election year, likely puts it over the edge

 

I’m now even more convinced the upcoming announcement by Riot Mike is that the festival is moving. Where? Who knows. But I think the noise from neighbors (honestly, rightfully) complaining is finally at a tipping point.

 

Can we leave the doomsaying to Reddit? I have no reason to believe that this will be cancelled.

 

LOL go back one year ago to all the people here saying the "Riot Fest is 100% not happening in 2021"... Let people speculate but remember that it's all just speculations.

One would think but that argument could be made for at least 8-10 bands at this point. Based on your last count we had 3-4 more to come so... Either it'lll be a small batch of heavy hitters or they're adding a stage or two.

And they're still honing in/doubling down on there being "surprises" coming. Even more curious now.

 

Riot creating and recently promoting a separate organization for the beautification of Douglass leads me to think they aren't going anywhere or at least is not Riot Mike's announcement.. I can totally understand 3 festivals being overkill though

 

I'm not so sure. They did FC at the Concord in like Jan/Feb.

 

And they did it for like 2 days like 3-4 years ago as well...

Maybe Riot Fest should do a special stage each year with bands that are there every year: Thursday, TBS, Gwar, Andrew WK...
