They still give free admission to anyone in the neighborhood right? I'm not saying that alleviates any of the downsides for the people that live there, but it is cool that they make sure to do that. Optimistically, they could still "enjoy" the park that weekend. Conversely, they could go & be even more convinced that it's a horrible thing for their neighborhood
The biggest thing they could do is hire more people from Lawndale. They do a bit but, in my opinion, not enough.
They may wait to just do it when they drop their other big announcement.. Riot Mike said "in a couple of weeks", slighty alluded by the end of the month.. neither no one can confirm at this point or the Menzingers will just announce it themselves
Well I was just basing it off of them loving to make announcements on Wednesdays, the Menzingers announcement, and the tiktok saying they are coming this week.
Yeah, they seem really cool. I have seen them out at shows and wanted to say hey but got too nervous.
symbol marks indicate that screaming females won t be an add on for riot... but also, am i crazy or in this sense aren't 'Menzingers only" and 'no screaming females" the exact same thing?? haha, like each date with either marking will have the same line up
What are we thinking for other album plays? Immediate thoughts/hopes: Bad Religion - Process of Belief (20 years) Ice Cube - The Predator (30 years) Rocket from the Crypt - Scream, Dracula, Scream (no anniversary; but an important record) Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue (no reunion but this would be a huge get for Riot) Lagwagon - Double Plaidinum (recently played on tour; really just wishful thinking as they cancelled the Boston date) The Juliana Theory and Anberlin are also possibilities, IMHO. I almost want to say Lunachicks would make sense too...
ha yea, i got so excited about the prospect of screaming females i looked right past touche amore's name on there altogether, its early and the celtics lost another heartbreaker, so im a little off
Would be down with most of these. I think OA would be a huge get for RF (and maybe would explain their placement on the poster) but I doubt TJT would do it since they played EID here last year.
I feel like I'm in the minority here, but I really think Yellowcard's poster placement is fully justified considering its their only show of 2022 and the two just behind them either have already toured this year (Bauhaus) or will be touring (SDRE). I also think SDRE's stock isn't anywhere near as high as people think. But regardless, them doing that album would cement the placement even further. Would straight-up be an amazing get for Riot too... Kind of impressive how with only a few bands they were probably able to make certain people regret a trip to WWYF. Hah.
