Relieved to hear LBC finally getting talked about in this thread! They are awesome and don't tour often so I highly recommend checking them out. My personal favorite:
They kept hyping/promising album-plays but nothing ever came of it, other than Fishbone doing The Reality Of My Surroundings
So many bands on this lineup have intuitive anniversaries for album plays, but yeah at this point I wouldn't put a ton of stock in that either.
That really sucks, that's one of the biggest draws to Riot, for me. Which is also why I opted for Furnace Fest last year. Which ruled, but Riot's overall experience brought me back even if there end up being no album plays
Goldfinger are announced for a few festival shows in Europe this summer.. they barely tour, but that would make them a good festival get I have to think RBF is going through lineup changes and that's probably delaying them going back to touring BECAUSE they literally have done like 150 shows a year for over 20 years.
Same with Agent Orange, Jello Biafra & the Gitmo School of Medicine, Story of the Year, Knocked Loose. I really thought this would be the year for at least some of those guys
They've had so many lineup changes throughout the years. Haha. I wonder if Aaron is anti-vax or something… that’s the only reason I could see why they wouldn’t tour
That wouldn't matter if he was anti-vax or not for playing most venues.. I read Aaron was doing some stuff with Scott so he may be rejoining the band and like you said.. they've changed lineups a million times so that's the only logical update.
You can sell them on StubHub. I've done it multiple years in past when I was broke and couldn't afford the trip out. You just don't get the actual tickets in your account until like August, but when do get them they are PDFs.
Seems like they're touring with Joyce based on that tweet from last week so makes sense they wouldn't be on now
Cool thanks. I have used StubHub for buying and selling but most times it's just a transfer from Ticketmaster. The Eventbrite receipt said the organizer had disabled pdf tickets and there were no transfers or resale but maybe Riot fest puts that every year to minimize third party sales? I was looking forward to it but between tix, travel, hotel, expenses etc I was looking at over two grand. Just to get back my $400 I'd have to list mine on StubHub at closer to $500 so I may put them in the sales thread here at cost plus PayPal goods and services fees. $400 for a pair (I think I bought in June of last year) is way less than the $700 they are now.
Overall I'm surprised as at how little if any they've played since the new album. I understand being busy to tour, which you think makes them perfect candidates for one festivals. Rbf must be taking a sibatical. They used to tour non stop all the time..like allllll the time so maybe it was time to chill.
I don’t have TikTok but apparently Riot posted a behind the scenes TikTok yesterday and in the background you can see some of the stage lineups, and there are dots next to some of the acts which someone on Reddit is inferring to be bands doing album plays.
The one band i really wanted that isn’t on there (besides Paramore) was Origami Angel. Hopefully i get to see them sometime.
Now that’s interesting… Maybe Yellowcard’s doing Ocean Avenue? SDRE doing an album-play however, I’m not sure I’m sold on though…
The ones with blue marks appear to be Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jimmy Eat World, The Academy Is..., Ice Cube, Yungblud, Yellowcard, Sunny Day Real Estate, and The Front Bottoms.
will someone with better eyes than me type out everything you can make out? yellow card and sunny day are the only one i can make out, haha
The Story So Far are just under Yellowcard. The SDRE stage has the Front Bottoms, Alexisonfire, the Get Up Kids and Bully as well. Sorry if that's not what folks were asking for in terms of being able to read smaller stuff. LOL
