Ska Dream aftershow w/ LTJ would be the best aftershow possible

Some random blue checkmark on Twitter is saying this is only the first wave. Seems a bit unlikely to me given the number of bands announced, but who knows.

Thrice and Bayside are doing a show in Chicago next month so I am guessing that if they are added then they won't announce it until after that show. Also Thrice are doing "The Illusion of Safety" in FF so I wouldn't be surprised if they do it at RF as well.

Both played last year so it might be unlikely, but Alkaline Trio is in here and they also played last year, so...

Yeah I think instead of a second wave this year, we'll get a few bands sprinkled in here and there. Overall though this is most of what we'll get I'm sure.

This lineup is better than I thought it would be. SDRE playing is very cool, as is them getting the Yeah Yeah Yeahs for the first time and Sleater-Kinney again. Also…fucking finally @ Jeff Rosenstock playing (now we need Chris Farren one of these years). Makes sense why there was no Chicago on his tour. Also stoked to see Bully playing again. I had a feeling they were on the lineup since they hadn’t announced any Chicago shows since their empty bottle shows last summer. Mannequin Pussy is a neat lower tier band as well. I know in previous years they have played shows in Chicago like the week of Riot Fest so I had a feeling they would eventually be added one of these years. The Linda Linda’s are also a great add and they would be dope to see. The new Mom Jeans album rips so hopefully they get a decent time slot instead of very early in the day like last time they played. Yellowcard being billed as high as they are is wild, but I only know Oceans Avenue and the song they accused Juice Wrld of plagiarizing so maybe I’m ignorant on their draw.

Other cool acts I dig playing: MCR, Portugal, Bleachers, The Wonder Years, The Menzingers, Jimmy Eat World, The Get Up Kids, Real Friends, Sincere Engineer, Skating Polly.

The bummer is I’m unsure if I can go this year due to a tentative planned trip with friends from college, but worst case I’ll try and go at least one day if I can!

Fri: MCR, Alk3, Bleachers, Wonder Years, Jeff Rosenstock, Anberlin, LTJ, Hot Mulligan, Boston Manor, Sincere Engineer (kinda called it yesterday), Cliffdiver.
Sat: Yellowcard, Bauhaus, SDRE, Front Bottoms, AOF, Movements (I just need to hear "Kept"), GUK, GWAR.
Sun: YYY, JEW, The Academy Is..., Midtown, The Linda Lindas, Mom Jeans, The Juliana Theory.

I guess Friday is more stacked for me than I thought. Excited to see what this "next couple weeks" talk is all about.

Deleted, what did it say? Or just that there was a second wave

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs should be on everyone’s list because they rarely tour, have new music coming, and Karen O is a fucking badass

The biggest shock of the lineup…no Eve 6.

I'm thinking they end up on an after show (also the odds of at least a band or two falling off is very likely and they may be a backup).. I could even see them opening for Rosenstock if he does a SKA DREAM show

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

I'm fully convinced this is the lineup and there isn't another wave coming. Looking at last year's schedule, there's already enough to fill an entire day.

It was someone who Reddit said was a Q101 DJ responding to the lineup post by Q101 saying “this is just the first wave”.

Yeah I think at most we will maybe get like 5 bands added if any

    TBS seems the most likely

Looks like she replied again using slightly different wording. Here’s a screenshot in case she deletes again.

They've had +/- 30 bands every year since 2017.. and have that amount already listed for the most part, maybe the second small stage will return but I honestly don't see any huge additions (minus TBS due to Tinley)

Well the point of the blue check mark is that there are no random blue check marks, but I didn’t know who she was so she’s random to me lol

Based on Riot Mike's statement about there being "more to come," I feel like there's going to be something coming. Sooner rather than later.

But the # of bands lines up and neither the poster or web site says there are more bands coming. The web site just says this related to subscribing the mailing list:

So I think there's going to be some sort of special Riot Fest-type or related events coming that aren't necessarily happening on the day-of the festival. And maybe that's what the Q101 person was referring to?

They also might have a few bands to add that they can't yet for one reason or another (but the lack of ???? on the poster has me thinking that's not the case).
