I’ll wait to see who the final lineup adds, but I’m like 90% towards canceling now. Oh well 30th birthday party :cringe:

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Yeah, I noticed on Jawbox’s Instagram their bio had the hashtag “#jawbox2022” which made me question their tour plans

Bummer about MCR too. Curious about who will replace them

Although, ngl, more bummed about Jawbox than I am MCR lol

Blink headlining would be so boring

Do you all actually believe that we were going to get an announcement today like that press release/statement says?

I guess it would make sense to hold off a few weeks. I would imagine sorting out how to deal with refunds, transfers, etc. has to be a pain.

Have the Pumpkins play all of Siamese Dream on Friday and both sides of Mellon Collie Sat/Sun. Problem solved

You mean I might get to go to Riot this year and see Coheed/Thrice/Circa/PUP without being smothered by wall to wall MCR fans? Sign me up!

if Op Ivy is replacing MCR, that's a blessing in disguise.. I've seen MCR twice at festivals and the sound mix was horrible.

  14. Disappointing, but I'm definitely still going this year and taking advantage of whatever discount they give us for 2022.

I'd take it. Especially if it was a Dude Ranch or S/T set. Both of which are incredibly unlikely, but y'know...

Fair point! Damn. What could have been...

That would be amazing, but y'know... I feel like they would have said more than just "the line-up is sick" in that post. It would have read more like "We've got something just as good, maybe even better for you!"

Bummer to have to wait yet another year for MCR, but as long as I am in Douglas Park listening to music and drinking beer with my friends this September, then I'll be more than happy

Wonder if this means Hella Mega is a no go? Or is that tour in a safer position because it’s outdoors?

I'm thinking either a no go or postponed to September-October like everything else

this is my exact thought, the positives in all this news far outweighs the negatives. The only negative for me anyways was not getting MCR this year, BUT if i still get MCR next year for a ticket they said i can get a special price for still attending this year, then its not even really a negative!! get a deal on 2022 ticket for being a bit more patient while still getting all the rest of 2021? hell yea!

How 'bout Hella Mega gets cancelled and we finally get Green Day at Riot Fest? With a proper set during the main festival and a practice/"fuck around" set of early songs on Thursday night like they do in those small club runs they sometimes do ahead of major tours.

I mean, they'e done shit like that at festivals before.

DISCLAIMER: I don't actually expect this to happen. I've just had too much coffee, this is a lot of news to digest, and I really like Green Day.

besides the 4 that dropped off and the addition of questions marks, the other big obvious change is that RTJ is offcially bumped to #4 on the poster. we kinda assumed that but getting it confirmed is exciting that more big names on the way!
