CIV played the side stage in 2015. They played at 5:30 just before Joyce Manor. I could see them closing out that same stage this year. Possibly a mid-day set on a main stage, but I'm not sure what other acts on the bill would fit with them at the moment (maybe NFG and/or the Circle Jerks, but that's about all that obviously sticks out to me).
I have 5 straight days worth of shows that week. The 4 days of riot fest and parkway drive on Wednesday. It’s gonna be a long ass week and I will be exhausted come Sunday
Just scheduled dose one of the Pfizer vaccine. Riot Fest here I come!! (Change of tune from like two weeks ago when I thought it would be a much longer wait)
International Superheroes of Hardcore is definitely my biggest want for Thursday that I could classify as realistic.
I'm not even sure what I'd want to see on Thursday. But thinking about what might be feasible based on the current line-up, the kind of bands they might reasonably be able to get, etc. I'm sure I'm missing a few obvious ones but: The Lawrence Arms ("Asian Man/Fat years" set) Saves the Day ("Through Being Cool" set) Rise Against ("early years" set) Pegboy International Super Heroes of Hardcore Alkaline Trio ("FHTI" set) Me First and the Gimme Gimmes (0 evidence this might happen, but would be an amazing party band and could make a ton of sense if Bad Religion, Bad Cop/Bad Cop, and/or Lagwagon get added)
Just was coming to post that. Seems like the fest might not be happening if MCR isn’t touring this year.
I don't know if that necessarily means the festival won't be happening. Feels more like a bigger decision that an individual band made. Booking and managing the logistics of a world tour is very different than planning logistics for a single festival. Somebody in this thread had mentioned that logistics were a nightmare. So I'm sure this is a reaction/response to that. And I kinda get wanting to postpone the whole thing (no sense in rehearsing and getting everything ready for 1-2 festivals). Not saying that it's not a bad sign or that other bands won't follow. But I don't think it's necessarily a key indicator. Assuming another headliner is willing to step up. EDIT: This is the sort of cancellation that will probably see a ton of people wanting refunds though. So. Maybe.
Yeah, I'd have to think riot more than likely isn't happening because of that. You never know, but that stinks
To be fair most people bought tickets cause of mcr. They were the first act announced for the 1st 7 months
So it looks like they're announcing the rest of the line-up in May... And already have headliners in play. Refunds will be possible.
Wouldn't have made sense for Op Ivy to play the same year as a reunited MCR so now I can comfortably and 100% confidently say Op Ivy will be the 2021 headliner folks
Do we think the question marks on the lineup actually correlate to the # of letters in the band names? I feel like they haven't in the past couple years at least, but did they a few years ago?
I’ll still go in 2021 if the acts I want to see still play, but losing MCR another year is definitely a bummer
It's re-assuring to know that they have new headliners and more bands to add to the line-up. And that they are planning to offer refunds, transfers, etc. As bummed as I am about missing out on MCR, my partner is already excited about who they might replace them with. Hah!
I don't know that anyone has ever proven that they do. It's usually just an indicator of where the act might fall in the line-up. And there's actual evidence of that this year. Some of the question marks align with where artists have dropped (AAR, Toots, and Jawbox).
I heard Blink is trying to reschedule their Inkcarcerarion and Common Ground apprearances for September so they could be headlining, though I know that’d be anti-climactic since they played in 2019.
