Just saw the leak of Pitchfork and Deafheaven,Thundercat and Oso Oso have dates in Chicago in March. Its 3 bands who will return too soon. But lets wait for the oficial announcement
The P4K leak was real. Doesn't take out a whole lot from RF but it leaves Bright Eyes for either Lolla or RF.
Thrice announced their Detroit makeup show for the Vheissu tour and it's....September 13th. Safe to say they're either playing Friday or Saturday.
So what do we pretty much know at this point? My Chemical Romance Thrice And then more than likely Andrew WK, GWAR, and Taking Back Sunday?
GWAR is playing FTA Open Air in Cave-In-Rock, IL on Fri Sep 11, so they're either Saturday or Sunday for Riot
Chances of ETID playing? They have a new album coming in September and are playing furnace festival the very next weekend.
HOLY SHIT! On the Detroit poster for the Thrice show, there's a picture of Saves the Day on the bottom! They're probably playing Through Being Cool!
I can't find that poster, but hot damn would that make me so so happy! Especially if they wind up playing Through Being Cool. It looks like they're leaning into that whole "emo" era hard... Thinking on it some more, and the groups of that era who didn't play last year that I'd love to see? I would be really stoked if they pulled in Hot Rod Circuit, Midtown, and/or Story of the Year. It looks like Face to Face are doing a Big Choice album run in April/May. It doesn't cover the midwest or the east coast. I could see them doing an east coast/midwest run in late summer/early fall with Riot Fest as one of the dates. On the 90s skate-punk tip too, I can see Millencolin coming back stateside in the fall and maybe doing Pennybridge Pioneers at Riot. The current one was limited to like, 4-5 dates and centered around a festival. So it would make sense... Still gonna say that I'm feeling strong about the Lawrence Arms, the Suicide Machines, Strike Anywhere, and Spanish Love Songs as being there. And I'm holding out hope that the "Red Scare" slots this year are taken up by the Methadones and Tightwire.
I already bought tix to Pitchfork and Bonnaroo, but I’m probably gonna end up at Riot still. At least Saturday.
mcr, coheed, thrice, the used, circle jerks, ETiD, saves the day, and chon... this list "highly likelys" is so far up my wheelhouse, we are on pace for my favorite line up yet.
This list would already be amazing. I know some people may not be into it but that Chain Fest show got me wanting Cartel playing Chroma and Saves the Day playing Through Being Cool.
