I cannot take that much time off work and am dead from RF and my weekend more generally. Otherwise I would 100% try
Yeah, if I had taken today off work (which I should after every festival but never actually do) then I might have headed over there.
Holy shit, I’m not really in to Metallica but that seems like an unbelievable opportunity. Also, if a band as big as Metallica can play a $20 club show, Fugazi could totally pull off some $20 club shows Riot Fest weekend one of these years.
If I didn’t have meetings I’d definitely be waiting in line. I’m not a Metallica fan so I’d be a wasted wristband that could go to someone more into them.
Realistically I could have made it over by 11:30, but no chance in hell could I have waited this long for tix on a work day
What an incredible opportunity. Very cool to see that the big anniversary for Metallica has been accompanied with so much of this kind of thing and not just the usual schlocky cookie cutter big-media operation.
I think seeing Metallica at metro might top when I saw foo fighters there. But I’m not going and I’m way to tired and sore today is a recovery day where I don’t do shit
We had a very similar Sunday. I got there early for the gories, who were stellar, then didn’t have anything til my big trio of bled/Fever/Thursday(again, everyone crushed it). So in that time I caught facs, health, and black star kids who were all reallllly good. I bet facs is amazing in a small dark club. Got in the Devo pit for my only pit of the weekend, lol, ate food watching TGI but was so hooked I went up in for the last 2 songs. I also left after duality since I peeked at setlist.fm and saw neither of the encore songs were anything I knew to well. everybody brought it, don’t think I saw a disappointing set the entire weekend, all expectations met or passed!
