Yesterday was my seventh time seeing Motion City Soundtrack, but I just realized that it was my first time seeing them with Tony on drums. I looked back at the news articles and my first MCS show was the day after they announced he was leaving the band.
I've paid cash for everything so far, but most places (besides some of the bars) seem to be cash or credit.
Ok, might need to grab some extra cash then. Was hoping they'd be like Pitchfork and encourage cards over anything else.
I feel like a lot of people are going to go to the Radical Stage at the wrong time today with the beer can schedule still having the old times. I still wish they wouldn’t have changed the times for that stage. I just saw Rise Against, so I didn’t need to see them again. Would much rather not have to choose between missing some of those bands or missing bands on Rebel.
Alright - if you see someone in a green Carhartt hat, Midwest Sad shirt, camo shorts, heavily tattooed legs, and a green sling bag - that's me. That Phonbex4 shirt is like wearing a tunic. Looks like I'm walking around without shorts on today.
Rise is on roots but they changed all the radical stage set times. Don’t know why they changed them. Maybe they didn’t want rancid playing the entire time rise was playing.
Ended up buying a bucket hat and let me tell y’all an absolute life saver holy shit. Pumpkins were phenomenal and that little bit of drizzle was a god send. Todays my big one so catch me at Big Freedia FYS Best Coast Gogol Bordello Vic Mensa and RTJ.
According to a post on Reddit, Damian from Fucked Up's Instagram post is saying they will not make it tonight
Parked at 54th/Cermak and took the Pink Line to Kedzie. With a little train timing luck I could probably get to/from the fest in under an hour. The only problem was finding the parking lot the first time since it’s basically in an unmarked alley by the tracks. Not sure I ever would have found it without satellite view in Maps. The past couple years I’ve driven to the Forest Park Blue Line station, taken that to Medical District, then walked to the Polk Pink Line station. Doing that in reverse after a full day at the fest was brutal.
