The Mannequin Pussy show last night only had one opener because Angel Du$t got COVID. I am in for a rude awakening Friday

 

Yeah i think with COVID (and not having the stamina of my 20's), I'm gonna pick my spots on what bands I want to get into the pit for. Circa, Coheed, FYS, RTJ, The Bled, Fucked Up, Knuckle Puck. Probably in for one or two songs and then out.

Am I crazy, or is there not blue line stops that would be closer? Either the Western or Kedzie-Homan?

 

Yes - if you're coming from the North, the Blue Line is going to be a lot closer than the Green Line. In general, I'd probably still recommend taking the Pink Line to the fest if you're taking the CTA. Puts you right there.

100%. Saw them their first show back in August, and they were definitely on point. So was The Used. And MM@TA. All around great show.

 

Bert's Shakespeare Soliloquy Circle Pit was incredible.

 

Defnintely taking the Pink Line to get there. Thats what I've always done.
Just trying to figure out good alternatives for after when I'm trying to head back toward downtown. I was fortunate to have a ride last time, but I recall pretty busy trains in previous years.

 

Less Than Jake won't be playing the NFG aftershow due to a positive COVID test in their team.

also I wonder if they’ll have to replace LTJ with someone like State Champs, Four Year Strong, or Simple Plan (again). Supposedly the venue is pretty big and they marketed it as a double headliner. I know I for one will be pretty pissed if I spent $55 to just see New Found Glory (or miss them entirely because they play too early)

 

The tour is still marketed, including on the venue website, as an NFG headliner.

 

Also curious what activity has been seen at the park.

 

It majorly sucks someone from LTJ has covid but I really hope this means Hot Mulligan are playing a long set

 

Hot Mulligan said on Twitter they'll be playing an extended set for the dates LTJ had to drop!

Got to Chicago early today and it still hasn’t really hit me that this is all actually happening.

Went to the Lincoln Park Zoo, took a walk along the lake, got day-buzzed at a brewery, and took a nap. Dinner at some sushi place and drinks at a tiki bar later tonight…

It’s already been great. And the festival doesn’t even start until tomorrow when I get to see an all-time favorite and a “newer” favorite for the first time in years (with my favorite person on the planet)! I swear, I didn’t know how bad I needed this.

 

Soooo just came from a tiki bar and going to a sushi place later. Are we living parallel lives and are you in River North? lol

 

I am only going one day and I’m already woefully unprepared lol

 

It honestly hasn't hit me yet that Riot Fest is tomorrow. My flight is in like 12 hours and I just realized I haven't packed lol
