I bought my tickets in June 2020 after they pushed to 2021 and I'll admit, the big 5 that've dropped out were definitely in my top 10 acts I wanted to see, but now we're here. I'm driving to Chicago tomorrow and am pumped to get back out there with yinz, spending 3 1/2 days listening to live music. Can't wait.
Yes. Security isn’t the fastest at Riot Fest and if Pitchfork on Friday is anything to go off, first day will be the worst.
The quick entry and A/C bathrooms are the key selling points for me purchasing deluxe VIP. The open bar is a nice perk too, but you really can't be the decreased stress throughout the weekend...
i just realized that now the Mr. Bungle aftershow is canceled i no longer have driving responsibilities Friday nigh as i was carting 4 other friends to it, so now i may upgrade to deluxe for friday and skip those lines and get them drinks flowing
Any idea what the VIP & Deluxe upgrade costs will be? I assume they'll have a flat rate instead of pegging it to the price you paid for your initial pass, right?
If memory serves, I believe you just have to pay the difference between the full GA price ($189,99) and whatever the price is for the level to which you want to upgrade. Presumably for single days it's the difference between the single day price ($99.99, I think?) and the level you want to upgrade to divided by 3. Hopefully someone else can confirm.
Blossoms and Rick Astley announce pair of shows celebrating the songs of The Smiths Rick Astley celebrating the songs of The Smiths would have been a more entertaining choice to headline the Thursday preview party than Morrissey.
Came to post this lol The CTA train poster is sick. I wish it was on a shirt too. I might buy the spider one with the line-up. Also the boxers
I wonder how that works with the tiers this year, though. Do you pay the difference up to the current price tier? Because that sucks.
Damn, didnt realize the poster has Faith No More and Mr Bungle until your mentioned it. But well, they cancelled yesterday and Riot needed to print the merch days in advance
i usually think the merch is meh and stick to something ultra basic with bands on the back, but i really like almost all of these, im eyeballing those pajama pants and the john Skamos shirt in particular
Agree - I generally think festival merch is tacky but this stuff is solid. The train poster is great and the 90s style tank makes me wish I had the body type for a tank haha
I’m really intrigued to see what type of set the Pumpkins play. I really enjoy their more experimental stuff but being at Riot Fest I’m wondering if we’ll see a more heavy set. If they go that route, I’d love to hear Bodies, Heavy Metal Machine, and Jellybelly
hard same. this is the first year im really being health conscience (besides all the drinking and smoking). all for the first time i bought fancy/expensive earplugs, shoe inserts menat to relieve lowerback pain, and a package of those icy hot bandages you can wear for 8 hours.
I know I'm just out of practice. I feel like a band about to play a huge concert. I went to a few smaller ones over the last month leading up to this weekend as warm up shows, just to get my body used to standing and navigating crowds again. I broke in a pair of semi-ugly but very comfortable shoes, I have my ibuprofen ready to go along with sunscreen and ear plugs. LFG.
It was quite funny in the pit for Dogleg at Pitchfork. No one could go for an entire song. Everyone has lost their stamina for moshing.
