the cure would be a great 3rd headliner and still sneak a Bauhaus reunion 4th on the poster and go full halloween tilt. rob zombie, Ghost, all the horror punk and psychobilly bands, avatar, here come the mummies, and im sure loads more
I could fuck with either The Cure or Depeche Mode headlining next year. Give us Goth Fest...bring back NIN too!
I kind of assumed NIN would be the third headliner next year to make up for not playing this year. Op Ivy and The Cure would be cool for 2023 though.
I think if NIN were going to be back for 2022 they would have announced it shortly after the cancellation (if not alongside it). But that would be great!
They just sent an email out with ticket pickup infor and they stated No app this year and map is up and included in the email
It's a weird move, but they basically angled those two stages at one another... That's either going to be super helpful. Or super annoying. I'm not sure. Seems like it might be helpful, though.
Oh yeah that feels weird but maybe my brain isn't comprehending the map? Either way, doing the overnight drive tomorrow :) Can't wait to get married at Riot Fest
I don’t fully understand: won’t roots and rise have crazy sound bleed? I know they are facing different directions but they’re still right next to each other
So basically, unless you want to camp at only one stage, you need to move for every band this year. Was hoping to hang at Roots/Riot on Friday like I could in past years. Crazy. Going to get my steps in.
Thinking about it. I guess having all the stages separates like this will spread the crowd out a bit more...#covid
TBH, I don't think the bleed will be any worse than it usually is. The way the stages are angled should help. It just seems like a fairly huge distance between each Radical/Rise and Root/Riot. Granted, for the latter you'll be able to hear okay from all across the field. But still...
Rise and Radical are swapped on that map from their usual spots. Curious if that's a mistake - it definitely affects some of the walking routes/partial set plans I had in mind.
From the map roots and rise face the opposite direction so Idk how sound bleed Would effect either stage
I am disappointed about the rise/radical switch. I was looking forward to bouncing back and forth between Rise and Rebel on Saturday night. Now that is going to be a lot more annoying. I’m hoping that it is a mistake.
NIN, MCR, and Misfits would be soooo expensive but if they can swing it, props to them. at this point I think it might be smart to punt on getting Op Ivy in 2023 and try to do a Bay Area Takeover in 2024. picture this: Green Day headlining Friday and Sunday, doing an American Idiot + greatest hits set and a Dookie + deep cuts set (both albums will be turning 20 & 30 respectively). Op Ivy headlines Saturday. We get sub headlining sets from Rancid, Jawbreaker, and Jello Biafra doing a DK set. seems to me like it might be hard for riot fest to get either one of Green Day or Op Ivy alone, but given the history between the two, they might both be more open to playing if the other one is.
