Could definitely be worse I guess, was pretty mad at first but I think I got it figured out

Citizen and Bronx is probably my biggest bummer and then the Thrice/Larry/MCS but I’ll just watch a little thrice and a little MCS

Saturday night is just completely fucked but that was expected

Am I the only one who finds Thrice to be incredibly boring and skippable at festivals at this point? Like, I'll catch them if nothing better is going on but they just sorta... Stand there.

I'm in the same boat. When I went to Disrupt Fest, my friend and I bounced after Sum 41 because we didn't think Thrice was worth sitting through for The Used.

Looks like we’ll be the only two from this thread watching The Bled. Congrats haha.

I'll be there too! They are going to be on Furnace Fest the week after so if they will be in conflict with another band I want to see then at least they will be lower priority since I'll be seeing them at RF anyway

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Thrice strikes me as being a band that’s much more better in a headlining show setting rather than a festival.

I’ve only seen them once, which was at Disrupt Fest in 2019, and I thought they were great, but I’ve heard from others that it seems like they phoned it in on that tour. (Of course, it could just be because Disrupt was a shitshow and it screwed with them)

I’d like to see them at a normal show in the future since it seems like that’s when they’re at their best. Their OC shows always sell out in days though, so who knows when that’ll be…

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Thrice was the last band on when I went to Disrupt (which I assume was intentional since it was a hometown show) and TONS of people left before they went on. It was astounding considering they always pack their shows around here. But I guess people just weren’t into them that tour…

That furnace fest lineup is insane. Jealous of people attending that.

Yeah I’m excited to see them again. They were one of my favorite live bands during their main run. Hopefully they can still bring it on that front.

Still debating if I want to try and find a last minute ticket for that TBS aftershow.

ill finally get to bust out the homemade The Bled shirt my fiancé made me. Cut the graphic off an old shirt and made it a back patch for a flannel. It looks so rad. And im am down for a meet up for that set!

This is my move as well. Watch Kenny, dip for the whole Bled set, and then head over to Body Count and Fever.

That's sick about the homemade shirt. Do you have a picture? I am down to meet up as well. It's cool to see other people actually seeing them bc there wasn't much talk about them prior haha.

Those comments are brutal. Absolutely brutal. Reminds me of some of the situations that went down at Montebello Rockfest... Although even that was nowhere near as bad, even at its worst. When I was there, anyway.

Does it strike anyone else as a little odd that we haven't gotten any updates on food vendors or the map yet for Riot?

Not for me bc I expect the same kind of setup for most Chicago festivals and Riot in particular. Bacci pizza slices. The place that does corn dogs and a million other grill things. The standard burger and chicken finger places. Island noodles. Antique tacos or some taco place. A few things likely swap out but by and large I think it mostly stays the same so I expect that to be the case this year.

Wow. I really struggle with shutting down when things are significantly different than expected, so I would be losing my mind with stress in that situation, damn

I’ll be checking out The Bled, too. IIRC I saw them at Projekt Revolution 2007 when I was like 13.

Yeah, that would make me lose my mind. Rockfest was pretty bad one of the years I went. I arrived 3 hours before doors open and still missed the first two acts. Then wound up having to walk 1.5 miles to the parking lot because the shuttles weren't working correctly, one of the drivers went missing, etc. But 1.5 miles is way shorter than 3+ and at the very least the people in the area working the festival knew what the fuck was happening.

The lack of information would 100% lead to me freaking out and probably leaving.

Friday is goddamn conflict city for me ughhhh

Thursday is just Joyce and Trio while chilling, I'm very excited about that.

    Friday:
Meet Me @ the Altar, Envy on the Coast, Oxymorons, then the headaches begin as I see Circa Survive, Pinegrove, Thrice, Motion City Soundtrack (missing the Lawrence Arms is fucking killing me), skipping Coheed in favor of Beach Bunny cuz I feel like that'll be more fun, then ending with NOFX.

    Saturday:
Devon Kay/Man on Man depending on my mood, Just Friends, Citizen or The Bronx (game day decision, good term @troyplaysbass), Four Year Strong, Best Coast, Bayside, Fucked Up, Run the Jewels.

    Sunday:
Pet Symmetry, little bit of 3OH!3 and Blackstarkids, The Bled, little Fever, Thursday, little Ratboys, The Ghost Inside, then fulfilling one of my last Bucket List bands with Slipknot.
(there's like, 4-5 bands I'm missing Sunday that are bumming me out, but that's the game baby)
