Yeah, if only there were any significant artists who just used a symbol as a name... Seriously though. You're onto something. Wonder how far away we are from a rapper or 7th wave emo band named Eggplant Emoji. Okay, y'know what? That is silly and amazing. I'm so happy they made that t-shirt.
This reminds me of one of my favorite Touché Amore songs that’s just called “~” and it pisses me off that I don’t know how to say that
After seeing Drake's new album cover, I would say it will happen this year. Be right back, creating a Soundcloud account. Don't forget about the band !!!, pronounced 'chk chk chk'. That's another band hard to google
Approximately is my guess bc a tilde would indicate an accent over another letter and we just have the accent mark and nothing else.
Also, according to Jeremy, he picked 'Tilde' because its the Latin word for 'Title', and the first line of the song if the title of the album.
I think them being active and putting out the locker info is a sign that more info is to come. But doubt it'll be a big one today.
This was cute. holy shit for real? I wouldn't have even let myself pretend that was an option but that's huge for me :)
I don't see why not, given that the thing was handled privately and iirc, Evan posting about it and the band taking off for the full album cycle were both based on what the person felt was important/necessary for proper accountability.
From my understanding of the situation, Punk Talks wasn’t acting with the best of intentions and they then went with an outside mediator to resolve everything. I’m in favor of supporting people who try and learn from their poor behavior and using them as examples of how we are all human. Nothing new has been learned so I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I was also never the biggest fan of the band.
Wasn’t sure what the outcome of the Pinegrove situation was, just remember people on here freaking out when they were on the initial Bonnaroo lineup.
Not trying to start any arguments or advocate for this, but I genuinely wonder if people would take the same attitude if say Sorority Noise came back. Similar band from the same era, and supposedly Cam and the victim have reconciled and agreed that nothing was done intentionally or maliciously. I personally can’t imagine Sorority Noise ever coming back from that, so it’s hard to understand how Pinegrove did.
This is the first I’m learning of this with SN but, to answer your question, it’s money. Pinegrove was on the verge of blowing up and still had some demand and money behind them. SN doesn’t.
That also doesn’t make sense to me, but I can accept it. In 2015 i would have guessed that Sorority Noise was gonna be way bigger than Pinegrove, MobBo, Front Bottoms, etc. I thought those guys were gonna be the next Brand New. Ironically, I was kinda right.
