Wayne says “right after Devo, right before Slipknot” So now I’m trying to think… Mr. Bungle is supposed to go on before Devo. So maybe Slipknot, TGI, and Mr. Bungle on the main stage, then a different act, Devo, TFL on the other?
It seems I will be able to see Devo and MGK! Although Devo playing the same stage as The Flaming Lips make more sense than playing at the same stage as Slipknot. Really curious to see the set times this week.
I think main stage will be bungle -> devo -> slipknot, with like someone-> body count -> flaming lips next door
I always get so confused when bands say this sort of thing. Because I never know if they're just talking about their stage or the two stages combined. I remember Jawbreaker kept talking about how they were playing "right after" Dinosaur Jr. back in 2017... Which was true on their specific stage. But Prophets of Rage were on Roots and were actually the band on right before them. I tried a few stage designations to see what it might look like and I can't quite figure out who would be on the main stage that day. Any number of different acts might work!
The Flaming Lips with Body Count, Thursday, K.Flay, and somebody else would make sense throughout the day. I would imagine Health will be early in the day on the Slipknot stage unless the lack of NIN gets them shifted around.
I’m kind of regretting impulse buying NFG aftershow tix. I like them but it was all because Hot Mulligan is on the tour, and now Im getting more and more nervous about indoor shows. Plus it was $55, which is how much I just spent on a Sad Summer Fest ticket
I felt the same way about my TBS impulse buy, but I was able to find someone interested in buying them. Maybe try to get them for sale ASAP if you aren’t feeling it anymore.
If you're hesitant about going and think you might not enjoy it, I'd definitely say try and sell your tickets. I think we might do the same with our Bayside aftershow tickets.
Agreed on the specifics needed when describing playing ‘before’ someone, haha. And I think it’ll all ultimately depend on if riot simply slides slipknot/flaming lips into NIN/pixies spots, genre flow be Damned, or if they reshuffle the deck to suit the new headliners
I’d assume The Flaming Lips will close a stage since they they have a larger stage production than most acts on the bill.
Hoping there isn’t a Slipknot/MGK conflict, but it does make sense to put them up against each other. I’d probably do 50/50.
My assumption is the Flaming Lips will close out the other stage just before Slipknot. But that’s mostly because I’m not sure who else could do that on Sunday except maybe MGK. Which would throw all our assumptions out the window haha. I think the “genre” staging for that day is out the window unless they shuffle a bunch around.
Well, we’ll find out later this week. Anyone taking a stab at what day we might find out? Mine is Thursday. With album plays tomorrow or Wednesday and map and such on Friday.
Not shocking and not sure if it's been explicitly stated anywhere else, but this preview of Riot Fest by QRO magazine says that Thursday's food vendors will be all vegetarian cuz Morrissey. Riot Fest 2021 Preview
Y'know, my girlfriend had been stressing about vegan options. This gives me hope. Now I feel compelled to ask: Anybody know of any good vegan options from years past? I'm sure there's gotta be something. I'm just oping there's more options than just like, french fries or salads. Hah.
I’m sure Reddit will throw a fit about that. I can’t believe how many people were still so angry that they couldn’t get meat at night when he got announced for Thursday.
I forget the name. I think it’s island noodles, but it’s basically stir fried lo mein noodles and veggies. I think the noodles have a small amount of egg in them, but it’s the go to item for me because it’s filling, but way healthier than some fake meat item or fries. Edit: the noodles are vegan so getting them without the meat is vegan and probably the healthiest thing you can get at riot. Island Noodles | Award-winning, wok-fired soba noodles.
Y'know, I remember this place! I had it once and didn't realize it was vegan hah. Good stuff! And I'm pretty sure they've been there consistently every year so... Yeah. Thanks so much!
Guess I'm in the minority here, but that's a bummer. Not that I need to eat a burger or whatever, but some mac n' cheese with bacon or chicken teriyaki noodles or something would have been nice. And I'm only marginally interested in seeing Morrisey, so there's not much consolation there.
The Morrissey thing just bugs me based on the whole "spoiled rock star brat" mentality. It would be something else completely if he were to show up on time, wasn't a dick in other ways, etc. But that's just the icing on the cake.
having it be part of the plan with the vendors from the jump makes it a more interesting and palatable situation than just springing it on the vendors day of. ill definitely roam around and find something to try once Alk3 finishes their set, since ill have the rest of the night to do nothing, hehe
