More bands + album plays today and the schedule announcement for tomorrow actually feels pretty right. Especially with the accidental Fishbone post yesterday... And Radkey posting their set time. All seems to be lining up! I'm excited again.
Fast forward two hours and they've added Staind, Volbeat, Mudvayne, Seether, Bad Flower, and Butcher Babies... And I'm demanding a refund like a hypocrite.
I think the schedule is going to ultimately determine if I go last minute or not. I don't have plans, but I might buy a last minute cheap train ticket and beg one of my Chicago friends to let me crash.
I'm waiting for the schedule too to see if I'm even going or not. I went over the lineup last night and got to the conclusion that maybe it's not worth going to see 4-5 bands each day (before conflicts). I might just end up selling the tickets and stay home and rest before I fly out to Furnace Fest a week later.
Speaking of Furnace Fest… I know this probably wouldn’t move tickets at this point and as far as I’ve seen no one has begged for it online, but it would be really cool if Riot got one of the bands that’s reuniting for it or is a rare live act to jump on our lineup. I’d specifically love Stretch Arm Strong or If I Die First.
Yeah, nobody's begging for it and it won't happen but... Fuck. Stretch Arm Strong would make me so happy. Haha.
Honestly, for my tastes, FF has the strongest line up I've seen in a long time. There are at least 7 acts each day that I would NEED to see.
Maybe I should have been pounding the proverbial table for Stretch Arm Strong the last 2 years instead of Carly Rae Jepsen
I went from being lukewarm on Thursday to stoked, thanks to the presence of Alkaline Trio and Joyce Manor doing the S/T record! Two phenomenal can't miss adds for me... Almost wipes out the bullshit that is the Flaming Lips. God, I hate that fucking band. Decent enough replacement for the Pixies, I guess, though.
Not advertised in Riot Fest’s tweets but Action/Adventure also got added to Saturday. Saturday might be the best pop punk day the fest has had since Saturday of 2017 edit: might have exaggerated because I thought Simple Plan and NFG were on Saturday. Definitely still a great day for pop punk.
Also worth noting that the festival has said the schedule, maps, and "all that other good stuff" will be coming next week. Bummed that we have to wait a bit but... Yeah. Next week should be exciting! Of note, I am a little nervous about some of the bands who are going overseas for Slam Dunk, as well as Fucked Up in Canada. But I'm trying to stay positive here. Haha. EDIT: Also? I've changed my tune on Sunday. I'm now hoping that Devo is early in the day. that way, I can get a ticket to that Bayside/Senses Fail show and bail on the festival proper.
does WDRL = We Dont Ride Llamas? thats all i could find when i searched, and they only seem to have 1 or 2 songs on spotify. (and the one song im listening to sounds great!) Edit - yes that is who it is.
