I completely forget Menz are playing tomorrow as I was originally supposed to be out of town. I don’t think I’d shell out for them to play such a short set though

 

That venue holds up to 30,000 but only if they open up the lawn, which they aren’t doing for the Rise Against show. Capacity is only around 8,000 for the show.

 

Tickets are back on sale for all days including 3 day passes

 

That feels significant. Maybe announcement Monday?

I can't believe I paid $300 for a Friday & Sunday pass, and now I could just get a 3 day pass for $215.

 

Im at the Rise Against show in Chicago. Menzingers were so good! Really want to see them again at Riot, their set at 2017 was really fun

Fuck, I had a dream last night that Smashing Pumpkins cancelled and that I was the one that had to break it to all of you guys. Hope I didn’t predict anything…

 

I like Rise Against but I probably wouldn’t have gone if Descendents and the Menzingers weren’t playing. The Descendents are probably one of my all time favorites and I always just feel so happy while seeing them.

 

That feels later than I would have expected. But that’s a good thing! Hah.

Feels like Stage 3 must be the “behind the scenes” designation for whatever stage it is…

Still a bit upset that they cancelled. Wouldn't be upset at all if they got re-added! Haha.

Yeah, I'd say set times are imminent.

My guess? We get the new artists early this week, including the replacements for the festival itself and some acts (or hints about acts) for the Preview Party.

And when they announce those artists they'll let us know the schedule is dropping Friday. That'll make it officially two weeks out from the festival. Right around the time they usually make the announcement.

 

Man, Redditors are furious that 3-day passes are back on-sale.

I agree that it kinda really sucks for people with passes they are trying to unload (without gouging people) but I'm also rolling my eyes at people pissed that they paid 1.5-2x the original price for a 3-day pass...

I just want the secondary market to die and for organizations like Ticketmaster, etc. to have some sort of regulation that only allows a 25% maximum increase on ticket resales or something like that.

 

I'm just pissed that they put single day tickets on sale after the 3 day passes "sold out," with each day costing 75% of what a 3 day pass was. I bought 2 days, couldn't even buy all three days because it was just costing too much money. And now I find out if I just waited I could've bought a 3 day pass, saved a lot of money, AND been able to go to the Saturday date too.

 

i was reading through that too and trying hard to bite my tongue, but the more i looked at it, its like the same 3-4 people bitching throughout the comments so i was thinking it could be a just a loud minority, but their IG and twitter comments on anything are also other group (possibly some crossover) of repeat comment spammers.

and not saying that there isnt some justification of frustration, just stop assuming everything is an afront to you personally, and it is odd riot put things on sale without mentioning it, but im not gonna try to read any predetermined intention, positive or negative in what they do as im sure they are just flying by the seat of their pants right now.

being annoyed is more than fine, but the people who think riot is some sort of greedy corporation intentionally screwing them over to line their already fat pockets rather than a company on the brink trying to stay afloat will always baffle me.

 

I honestly didn't understand why they didn't just put 3-day passes back on sale from the jump. Might be worth e-mailing them and asking if you can somehow convert the single day tickets to a 3-day pass. In my experience, the folks there are pretty good if you reach out with a specific request like that.

 

Well, I have total sympathy for (a) people who can no longer go for whatever reason and will now have a difficult time reselling tickets, and (b) people who purchased single day passes who may have otherwise bought a 3-day pass. It would be nice for the festival to let people know if there's an option to convert the single day passes into a 3-day somehow.

Where I lose sympathy is for people who paid exorbitantly high prices for a 3-day pass and are now pissy about it. "But they said it was sold out!" Sure. But then they had to refund tickets not once, but twice, after headliners dropped. But again, I think it was a really dumb decision to not just release 3-day passes again.

It's super bizarre they just silently put those tickets on-sale over the weekend with no real announcement, but I'm sure they'll announce it eventually. In fact, probably at some point within the next day or so!

I think you're right. It's a small, but vocal minority, who probably have memories like goldfish and will purchase tickets again next year regardless. Haha. I just sort of assume that everybody demanding a refund because band X dropped would rush to get a refund... And then get mad again because they would have liked the replacement act that was booked.

 

I bought 3 single day passes for my partner because when she confirmed she could go 3 day passes were sold out. Similar to another friend of mine going who bought a 3 day online for double the price because Sunday single day and 3 day passes were sold out. We’re all just happy we are going but still sucks.
