Yeah, he did. I know he's been known to show like movie clips before his set in the past, which, if you're headlining your own show, I'm cool with. But in a festival setting, it was just crazy. Plus he played only one Smiths song. Not thrilled with that set.
I would say this is the first year that it worked but it could be a fluke just because some acts didn’t want to tour or play. Yep. Didn’t play for a bit and just had a video playing along with preventing all the vendors from selling any meat products.
i think im gonna get tickets to against the current/first to eleven show cuz i dont care for thursday now
Very very excited for Slipknot. Morrissey does nothing for me though and the fact that he's curating the Thursday bands makes me think the entire day won't be up my alley
I think he lives in LA now. I know he still has property in the UK, but I think he mainly is in LA these days. But I could be wrong
At the time, I was on the fence about whether to post up for him or Nas. Went with Nas, and was so glad I did after reading about his shitty set and conditions
Seeing him booked a second time is a sobering reminder just how very little the general public knows or cares about the behavior of some of their favorite acts at best... And a bummer that they just don't care at worst.
Wonder if they shuffle who is on what stages now. With Slipknot being a headliner I could see a stage with: Slipknot, Mr. Bungle, the Ghost Inside, Body Count, and Fever 333 or the Bled
Based on that I would wonder where Thursday would fit in there. There's a couple of places but can't quite but my finger on where exactly.
when the guy from antiflag was talking about how they had a great main stage spot this year or something like that a few weeks ago makes me think set time/stage could be pretty set in stone already. if they were all set and they tried to re-align with the new headliner i could see a bunch of bands being like 'yo we were on the main stage opening for nin, and now you want us on the side stage opening for pixies..??" i actually love your idea but not sure on how realistic. id personally still put bungle with devo (as the one guy in bungle wrote about being so happy with it) and put the other 5 bands you had on the main stage. bled into fever first thing in the day would be so sick
What a roller coaster. I've been on the fence about going in the last few weeks and I'm not sure this changes anything. I wouldn't be going Thursday regardless.
I don't know that set times are ever really set in stone. And really, Riot could position anything as a "main stage" except for Rebel... It could arguably be viewed as a "bump up" for most of the acts except maybe Bungle because of the Devo thing. I guess I just feel like it would stick out like a sore thumb going from Pixies to Slipknot. Haha. But you're probably right...
I find it really odd that they just opened up Thursday to everybody. There must have been way more 3-day pass refunds than they will ever admit.
God, tons of people in the comments on Instagram demanding refunds for people with 3-day passes. Def not a good look/sign…
Is it bad that I'm of the mindset that paying the money for a 3-day pass because you want to see one band makes you an idiot and you don't deserve a refund? (Obviously, I'm being a bit hyperbolic. But seriously... I don't understand that mindset.)
Hopefully at this point with how many more people will be there they just give him his own curated stage and have 2 or 3 other stages with different genres playing
Sunday ticket holders and anyone with a 3-day pass it is included. Or you can now buy a ticket for it.
People with 3-day passes that want refunds SHOULD get them. NIN was clearly the biggest headliner there and rarely plays. Also, opening up Thursday to anyone is annoying for those of us who kept our tix plus getting Morrissey is just a really poor decision lol
