Judging by the poster I’m guessing it’s the Lawrence Arms considering it’s a straight play off of cocktails & dreams.
Pegboy or the Methadones would get me the most stoked. Feeling like Pegboy would be a huge get that is probably out of range but… Yeah.
I really need these unvaxxed ding dongs to get their shit together because with Jazz Fest in New Orleans and Limp Bizkit canceling I'm starting to get a little nervous.
This will probably come back to bite me, but I'm choosing not to get nervous/anxious about whatever happens with Riot Fest. If it gets cancelled it will be because, from a public health perspective, it is genuinely unsafe to hold an event like that. Which would suck, but will ultimately be for the better. If it happens? I get to have a great weekend wearing a mask knowing that I'm protected via vaccine. I also keep telling myself that for every festival cancelling there's 10+ that are still planning to go ahead, albeit with increased restrictions. Everything is so localized now with this that I'm not sure a festival in New Orleans is an indicator as to what will happen in Chicago. I just keep telling myself that case counts aren't what matters. It's hospitalizations. And I think a big part of what happens with Riot Fest is more likely to be what we see coming from Lolla in the coming week. If there is a significant uptick of cases directly linked to Lolla? I think that might become an issue.
no one is really even close in guessing it, but I do know chorus kinda does have a problem w him in the past
II/OI would make some sense. Leans a bit more toward "emo" than the usual fare but... Chorus does have issues with Evan.
Same. And he made some comment Twitter recently about IIOI band practice. I know he's touring with Dashboard but I think those are solo gigs and PS is playing Riot. Seems to line up. Plus @AWasteOfATime liked my guess post haha
Well, the Dashboard tour isn't until October. So that'd be a perfect practice gig to get back into the swing of things. And with Pet Symmetry on the bill too, it means he'll definitely be around and in "performance" mode. Also worth noting that they are playing Proper at Fest too. So there's a chance it could even be an album play!
Oh man, I saw Proper a few years ago at the Metro and it was great. I have such a deeper appreciation for that record now so it'll hit different this time around, IF that's the case. I'd settle for a regular IIOI set tho.
Weirdly, I think this has deterred me from purchasing a ticket. Nothing against II/OI. Just not sure it's the kind of set I'd be into leaving the festival early for/staying out late for, considering the line-up on Saturday night.
I totally misread this discussion and thought IIOI was just spilled as the Thursday headlining act and was so confused hahaha
Also if IIOI is headlining the pizza party then I’m pretty sure Ratboys will be one of the openers. They’re really close friends with Evan and are friends with Maxwell Stern.
Yeah, good call. Ratboys are playing RF too, and it seems like the right band hierarchy, if you subscribe to that kind of thing.
