One way to have a “special” ser w The Decline is technically an album play, and I would love to see that
Y'know, another great point. Hah! I would be all-in on The Decline. And that one has a shot, I think! Okay. Nevermind. I've hyped myself up again.
I just thoguht, maybe Riot will wait a couple of weeks after Lolla to see how bad the spike in cases are before giving more announcements. Im afraid that after Lolla, Hella Mega and other big events, there will be postponments again.
This is exactly what I'm thinking, if only because it's unlikely for the numbers to get totally out of control before the effects of the festival show up in the stats. I'm going to be more than willing to mask up, even for indoor shows, but I'm trying to prepare emotionally for another wave of postponements :(
jimmy eat world played/is playing bleed American in full tonight at metro for the 20 year anniversary and will be the only show they do it at
Same, he'd fit right in on that lineup. Also surprised that Jxdn isn't playing Riot, considering he is touring with MGK. I've been obsessed with his song Braindead, would've checked out his set if nothing was conflicting.
Does anybody know when tickets will show up in my Eventbrite account? I can't remember when that happened in the past
Just saw on Reddit that the Soothsayer Pizza Party announcement is apparently coming this week. Looks like there'll be a show on Friday and another on Saturday this year. EDIT: Direct from their Facebook page - "we will be announcing not only the return of POP PUNK PIZZA PARTY for the saturday of riot fest but a special friday aftershow as well. VERY SOON."
I dont think ive looked at the FAQ in a long time, is this new info? im assuming they are making an announcement for it soon because that's a pretty big (but obviously very good) thing to just slip into the requirement for entry FAQ | Riot Fest
Can't imagine anyone in their right mind weakening this policy between now and 9/16. Fingers crossed.
I looked at it the other day when we were discussing whether or not this was something that could reasonably happen. Looks like we have evidence that it can, hah. But I think the key here is that it's something the government is forcing them to do. In other words: Based on what is/isn't legal they are changing the policy. Not surprised and very happy about this! Hopefully we see an announcement about this (and other things) fairly soon.
I wish venues and festivals were becoming vax only or negative test not because they are forced to but because they truly care about their patrons and their safety. Regardless, I am happy they are implementing this and I hope they actually look at the cards, as I know some Lollapalooza attendees said security barely looked at their cards.
Security at Lolla did match my vax card to my name on my ID, but yeah, I have heard that was not the case for everyone. It was a very quick process.
I'm glad this is happening and I kinda think Riot waiting until it was legit required is a calculated move so they can shrug their shoulders and say "Not our rules, bud! Sorry! Has to be this way!" I'm curious to see what sort of refund requests they get after they announce. I do kinda wish they were being as aggressive about vaccines as Fest is. Fest doesn't have the vaccine requirement for fans (yet) but they've said that all bands and staff working the event are required to be vaccinated. And they have been actively encouraging it for a while now. (And going hard on people in the @ replies who make anti-tax comments.) It would be nice if Riot Fest took a similar approach. But I kinda feel like they are in less of a position to do so without potentially alienating X% of fans.
