I've had a similar dream. Except it was me being unable to find my vax card to board the flight to Chicago. And then when I finally found it, there was an after show we had tickets to (that was somehow the Lawrence Arms headlining with the Bouncing Souls, Dillinger Four, and the Flatliners opening) that required a vaccination to get in... And I couldn't find it.
Do you all think Mr Bungle will play The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny in full like in their reunion shows, or is there a chance they will play songs from all their albums?
Will probably only be TRWotEB. That’s what all their shows have been. I think they even said they aren’t intending on playing anything from their primary discography. Only the demos. Since it’s not entirely the classic lineup, either…
Who wants to be the one to let Summerfest know that Fishbone isn’t playing there at 8 p.m. like it still says on their website?
a buddy of mine mentioned this but perhaps the riot set will be their recent Easter bunny set but maybe they invited fishbone to be their special guests because they use their horn section to do some of the older stuff, so that aftershow set could be wider ranging. guess thatll just be a wait and see situation, but one can hope they dont do the same set twice that weekend.
Fishbone's tour dates are confusing as fuck right now. Thursday, 9/16 - Riot Fest 2021 Friday, 9/17 - Summerfest 2021 Friday, 9/17 - Riot Fest 2021 Late Night with Mr. Bungle Saturday, 9/18 - SoCal Hoedown Just checked and their still listed on the Riot Fest proper line-up for Friday too. Guessing they dropped off SummerFest.
Milwaukee is only an hour and a half away from Chicago so it’s doable to play a show there then an aftershow in Chicago, I think.
but they play friday day at riot as well dont they? are they wild enough to try an early day riot set, drive to summer fest for an evening set, and then back to chicago for a late night set all in one day? if so, they really have faith in there not being traffic, haha
It would be completely plausible that they could do an early afternoon Riot Fest set and then SummerFest ~8pm. But the SummerFest set is scheduled for 8pm EST. Assuming they have 45 minutes, they'd be ending at 8:45. 30 minute breakdown would see them leaving the grounds at 9:15. 90 minute drive would see them back to Chicago around 10:45. Assuming a start time of 11:45 that would give them a bit of wiggle room. And I've definitely seen Fishbone set-up with ~15 minutes time. So it's arguably feasible (especially if they shared gear with other bands at Riot). But hot damn, would that be intense. And probably pretty miserable. To answer @KindaFatMike, though? Yeah. I think they might be wild enough to try it. Haha.
I mean, it could be Fishbone is first on their stage that day. Then cruise to Summerfest. Then come back. Because doors for the late night show are… 10:00? So they probably won’t be on until 11:00 or 11:30. So they could do it, I think
Ah I didn't realize they had a Riot festival set the same day. That does make it confusing, but possible.
Possible if they use a different backline and crew for Summerfest. So they finish their set and hop on their van back to Chicago
Milwaukee is in the central time zone so I’m pretty sure they play at 8 central. I assume they aren’t playing summerfest. They have already posted about the Mr. Bungle show and mentioned playing the festival earlier in the day but from what I can tell have never posted about playing Summerfest this year.
The answer to that question is easily Wound. I'd also accept Let Me Give the World To You, Bodies or Violet Rays.
When you’re right you’re right, Hummer is the most underrated and best Pumpkins song, which also makes it the most underrated and best song of all time.
Yeah Hummer is one of my favorite SP songs. They played it when I saw them in 2014. Hope they play it!
Most underrated Pumpkins song..."To Sheila" Also, didn't realize Bungle wasn't playing anything from their main albums, that'll def be a pass for me now.
So badly want to see the “and in the eyes of a jackal” live. Same as the 2000 Metro farewell show version of Fuck You.
My group is being really flakey with committing to an airbnb, so I think I'm gonna just book my own room. What's the best area to stay in that's close to the festival? I came across a few places in Bridgeport, Groveland Park and Armor Square. Are any of those neighborhoods good?
Not sure what your budget is but I just got a crazy good deal on the W downtown, not super close to the venue but only $135/night on Hotwire.
