Literally same boat. I'm up to 8 shows, including Riot, and am going to buy TBS tickets at 1pm haha. Gotta spend that stimulus money somewhere!
in the past like month since shows started getting announced ive bought tickets to riot fest 2022, slipknot, rise against, august burns red, lollapalooza 4 day passes, beartooth, taking back sunday riot fest after show and angels and airwaves
i just got 1 bungle and 2 thursdays. sunday has the most 'must see' for me so they are both insurance policies. and if somehow i dont have to deal with conflicts and im too tired to deal with an aftershow, im sure i could unload them pretty easily.
Yeah there are lots of shows I want to go to this fall but I can’t spend a ton of money all at once I have to do it in moderation
Everything in moderation, especially moderation. (If ever there was a place to use this quote, its the Riot Fest thread)
I've been strangely conservative with my purchases. I'm noticing that it's taking stacked bills and/or limited public transit for me to get excited about a show. Haha. For Riot Fest, I'm all in but it's going to take a band I really want to see for me to snag tickets to an aftershow this time around.
No I just got money at the right times and cuz of something with the person that does my taxes I just got the return a couple days ago.
i went credit card to, but thats only becuase the money i had allocated for it in checking had to go to tires when i got a flat on the highway 2 days ago. aint life grand?
I caved in and got TBS tickets last night. I was only getting 1 in my cart, and then I got 2 in the cart and panicked haha
I’m surprised we didn’t end up getting a MCS aftershow. I wonder if that’s gonna be announced next round
Do we think the fact that Alkaline Trio have a November show in Chicago preclude them from playing Thursday? Asking because I just noticed that it's a Riot Fest Presents show. They've been pretty loose with the radius clause this year, anyway... Having Alkaline Trio on that show would be a crowd-pleaser. They aren't all local anymore but it's the kind of thing I could see being "worth their time" to do. Especially now that we know Skiba probably isn't doing much with Blink (god, that looks so morbid written out that way). Get out there, play a low-key show in a big setting but a smaller audience than a typical festival before the bigger tour. I dunno. Feels like a thing that could happen now.
Definitely possible. Alkaline Trio is playing Slam Dunk in the UK in early September, so they will be together shortly before.
I’d love it if ALK3 were the mystery band. I’d love it even MORE if it were a From Here To Infirmary album-play…
I’m at my first show post-COVID and I forgot how much I miss shows and also how much I hate going to shows at the same time lol, but being here is getting me more motivated to grab a pass to Riot.
