Bad Religion and Taking Back Sunday have, but both of them had played Riot Fest multiple times and had a connection with them, which Madball doesn’t.

I feel unchained with all these shows I keep telling myself I don't need to go to but end up scooping........

I don't think Bad Religion has, but you're right. Taking Back Sunday in 2016. But still. That's one show out of however many there have been over the years...

That being said: Wonder if GWAR will do an aftershow finally? Madball could open. That would make sense.

The fact that so many of the Massachusetts tour dates are out in Worcester has been a solid deterrent for me. That drive is such a pain in the neck. So I haven't been scooping up as many concert tickets as others but... It's great to see things moving again!

I'm just happy that my first show back is going to be the Bouncing Souls with Sick of it All and H2O! In like, less than three weeks too! That's gonna be a fucking wild party.

I just checked. Bad Religion played at Double Door in 2014 while not being at the fest itself. But it is still super rare and not likely to happen generally.

State Champs did it in 2018

Same. I already have to tabs open to grab this tour and the Jeff Rosenstock tour when they go on sale Friday. I have no self control.

So in nearly a decade of aftershows we have ~4 bands who have done it. Each of which have an existing relationship with or had played the festival in the past (the Aquabats, State Champs, Bad Religion, Taking Back Sunday).

I just really doubt Riot Fest is clamoring to book a Madball aftershow. However... Maybe they open a Rancid aftershow at the Metro?

I was at that double door show with bad religion and anti flag. It was epic

Looks like you can book Gwar for a Scumdogs of the Universe album play, considering they're doing it on all their tour dates

Same here. Off the top of my head, I would love to see the Bright Eyes and Menzingers shows, but I'm not driving an hour on the Pike to see those shows at the Palladium.

Are they releasing any 3-days today or just single days? Initial announcement was a bit vague (unless I missed something).

I just checked EventBrite and it says "A small amount of Riot Fest 2021 SINGLE DAY Passes will be released." Damn thats a bummer.

For me, it's the Menzingers and that Dropkick Murphys/Rancid/Bronx show. The first one I might cave on is that Hot Water Music/A Wilhelm Scream show in November. Unless something else pops up in the meantime.

But I'm also feeling a little gun shy about everything. Like, I'm not backing out of any prior commitments. But it took my favorite band of all-time announcing a show within a 30-minute subway ride of my home, with the promise of a super sick undercard, for me to buy a ticket and get excited about it. Haha. And I'm still anxious about how it's all going to feel.

I get the feeling that, after that show, I'll get right back into the swing of things and find myself buying tickets in a fury. But probably not for anything out in Worcester haha.

They sent an e-mail out this AM as well that further emphasizes this.

There's also this statement that says: "We can't guarantee anything after selling out all 2021 tickets earlier this year - so we highly recommend that you act fast and head over to Eventbrite right when we make the remaining tickets live. There's not many, and we won't have any more for sale after these are gone."

Sounds like they really want to be able to see this sell out again ASAP. Would be a nice feather in their cap with the hard time Lolla had pushing tickets initially.

it appears to not be the instant sell out we thought it would be. 30 mins in and singles for all 3 days are still available

Wow 30 minutes later and I was able to get tickets! Just got Friday and Sunday.

I'm honestly not surprised. I suspect there's a decent number of tickets from the refunds they processed and it's weirdly hard to get word out about tickets going back on-sale. I feel like a bunch of people probably tuned out after it sold out the first time...

Hopefully it doesn't sell out and they finally throw those album plays our way tomorrow to push it over the edge.

not to mention a small handful of people who fell for a scam and either 1) dont know it yet or 2) are now disenfranchised from going since they are out a couple hundred bucks already.

Totally. And I mean, Riot has been saying single-day tickets will be put back on sale since the sellout announcement. There's just a certain percentage of people who can't be bothered -- or are simply too busy -- to do any research or read the fine print.

The number of people who fell for a scam is negligible, I think. Super disheartening and a bummer. But relatively small. I think it's just hard to get people back into the fold once they've checked out.

A new announcement would kick things up a bunch, I think. And get articles going again, hyping the fest and linking tickets.

Tickets are still available an hour later. I wonder if we might see a social media blast from all the bands playing highlighting that tickets are still on-sale. I feel like that would really help...

How much do single day tickets cost after fees?

Looks like it's right around $150. Not an unfair price, IMHO. But after reading some of the chatter on socials, I think they would have done themselves some good by releasing some of these as 3-day passes at a slightly reduced rate.

I was gonna say… I’m pretty sure my 3-day pass with Thursday party was the same price
