i think it will be a coin flip between them and rancid for who is on the next door stage playing in to rtj's headlining set.
Y'know, good point! There's definitely a chance that Rancid, Dropkicks, and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones get main stage this time around! I could definitely see Faith No More in that Incubus slot from a few years back.
Didn't the Bosstones play the main stage in 2017? Coulda sworn they played one of the two main stages during the mid afternoon.
The deadline is today actually not tomorrow. They deleted the original tweet and changed it. I updated the post with the new tweet
Also hitting the Schubas Mannequin Pussy show and Friday of RF so potentially a triple threat that week haha.
I don’t think we get anything today. I don’t think they actually need anything to sell the rest of the limited amount of tickets that go on sale tomorrow. A lot of people missed out so the demand will still be there imo
Probably depends on how many refunds they processed. But I think you're right. They don't necessarily need the help... That being said? It couldn't hurt to announce something else ahead of on-sales just to set it in stone. If they have the ability to do so.
I agree that they don’t need the help. But right before selling more tickets seems like as good of time as any for some kind of announcement.
I think it there was any kind of announcement coming like that they would be trolling on Twitter and there was non of that last night
aftershows tie in more to schedule release since one of the big reasons people go is to alleviate conflicts, so i dont think aftershows will coincide with these extra tickets in anyway. id love to be wrong and get it ASAP, but my guess is in july
I mean, at this point? Nothing new is being announced ahead of ticket on-sales. But I don't necessarily think they'll go to the same level of trolling/taunting that they do fro the line-up itself with album plays. They tend to just announce those with no major lead-up.
Man, I really wish Thursday were playing with Taking Back Sunday here. That line-up would inevitably be at our House of Blues directly in Boston and is a sick line-up. Thursday with Laura Jane Grace and Vein is cool too. But I can't be convinced to drive 60+ minutes alone to see that show. Hah! (Which is also a bummer because it's almost a guarantee that somebody else is gonna beat out TBS at Riot.)
Madball is now a potential aftershow (maybe at Reggie’s) for Saturday. They’re touring with GWAR just before and just after riot fest
Probably not, unless they're an opener or its a co-headliner. Aftershows are pretty much always bands who are playing the festival. I honestly can't think of an example where an aftershow was headlined by a band who wasn't playing the festival. Except maybe for one of the pre-festival shows (like the Aquabats in 2019).
