The rise against one was incredible prolly one of the top times I’ve seen them live. Tim sounded amazing the set list was good and I had a blast
Wow.. Against Me!, The Flatliners, Off With Their Heads, Hop Along @ Cobra Lounge That's a wild Cobra Lounge show
2015 was loaded!! Rancid with interrupters, atreyu w/ ETiD, alk3 with naked raygun, thrice w/ chon, against me, dead milkmen.. god damn! It was my first year and probably not even aware of aftershows at the time
I've done: 2017: NFG/Bayside at Concord, The Menzingers at Gman Tavern 2018: Sum 41 at Concord, Aaron West at Sleeping Village 2019: Against Me at Metro
I've done: 2014: Rise Against with the Lawrence Arms, Touche Amore, and Radkey at the Aragon; The Get Up Kids with Modern Baseball and the So-So Glos @ Bottom Lounge 2017: The Ataris @ Cobra Lounge; New Found Glory with Bayside and Radar State @ Concord; taking Back Sunday with Sleep On It @ Bottom Lounge 2018: Direct Hit! and the Bombpops @ Chrome Hub; Bad Religion with Bully and Mannequin Pussy @ Bottom Lounge; the Bouncing Souls with Sincere Engineer @ Cobra Lounge I have a few regrets from 2012 and 2015 in terms of what I didn't see as far as after shows go but... Yeah. It's always a good time and I'm hoping for more this year!
I’ve been to the rise against one in 2014 Also been to 2 TBS. the one with sleep on it and the one in 2019
2017 - INVSN (announced day of, their next gig got cancelled so they stayed in Chicago an extra day and threw a show together at Township) 2018 - Bouncing Souls 2019 - pop punk pizza party (the eradicator, kali masi, Ramona)
Probably pretty wide open this year, looking at the bottom line of each day on the poster almost any of those bands could fit there (with a few exceptions like holy fawn or the bolweevils lol)
Honestly the safe money is on Direct Hit! again. They have a long-standing relationship with soothsayer hot sauce who puts the show on, they’ve played it more than any other band, Devon is already on the riot fest lineup, and they’re based out of nearby Milwaukee.
It was a blast, as I recall! Set list was pretty standard, but the Get Up Kids played a set primarily focused on their first few releases and included their cover of the Cure's "Close To Me" in the encore (for obvious reasons). The So-So Glos were amazing and Modern Baseball was on point as well.
Isn't the pizza party almost always a "pop-punk" type band that is right about the level that would open up the main stage or play later in the day on the Rebel stage? Looking at the line-up, I could see Just Friends or Meet Me @ The Altar fitting that bill. But I also think the Bombpops may also be in play since they're on that Bayside tour and will be free that weekend... Direct Hit! too because of everything that @Rmourz said, as well.
NICE! With The Bronx as openers, and doesnt conflict with Riot! (dont try to press play on the pic, just a screenshot, lol)
Riot Fest was listed on the press release they sent around Sat. 9/18 Chicago, IL Douglas Park (Riot Fest) *
It seems Coheed and Cambria and The Used are touring together in September. Now I want The Used for thursday preview party
It would also help me not miss TBS and RTJ, as I’m sure there will be some kind of scheduling conflict between those three at the fest
See, I'm taking solace in the fact that the conflict will be between DKM and RTJ. I'm assuming Murphys will headline their stage with Rancid being on just before them.
I had been hoping for RTJ to play unopposed, Rancid to play before Dropkick Murphys, and TBS to play at the same time as Dropkick Murphys. which feels about as likely as hitting a 3 team parlay with the Bengals, Lions and Jets all winning
