If I remember correctly, when it was the Misfits reunion they announced a few month before the lineup release, right?

 

I believe that was only a few days before

 

misfits was announced in april of that year. i think the full lineup still came in may like normal

 

The year I’m going to be out of state for all of Riot they book MCR haha. MCR is a better fit at Riot though than Lolla.

MCR would be new territory with Riot Fest announcing a headliner this early.

They were postponed a year, not announced early.

 

When they postponed, it was announced they would headline the follow year to make up for it... it's all semantics tho

 

This is mad. I was meant to go Riot two years ago but my friends pulled out before booking, and then last year I went on holiday instead. This year, we've all booked our planes from the UK and everything and now MCR might be playing. This is so good and I hope it is true.

 

im hoping Riot co-announces it today, but MCR could always pull the "Chicago date/venue TBA" type thing.

At this point, I think Riot Fest is going to announce it. But it makes sense that they would hold on announcing it until after the band announced it, given who the band is...

It would look crazy ridiculous for them to announce a Chicago date that weekend and have it be listed as "TBA." That would be so transparent.

Hopefully they don't jack the price up immediately after they announce them...

 

Could also see them doing that funny thing where the band announces a tour with no Chicago date but playing dates around the weekend of Riot

I mean, they could do that. Or have a "Chicago TBA.' But I think it would make a shit-tone more sense for Riot Fest to bite the bullet and announce them along with the rest of the tour. This would almost guarantee that they sell a whole mess of pre-sale tickets (both locally and from people like myself who trust RF as a brand but generally wait to see the full line-up -- if they are on the bill I am way more likely to buy tickets in advance).
