Based on the available evidence: Rise Against or the Used are just as likely, if not more so TBH. The Menzingers would be an incredibly great addition and my preference among the three, but yeah... Bring on an Impossible Past album play on Thursday night! Almost definitely not happening. But that would rule. Why are you quoting Machine Gun Kelly lyrics?
Real curious to see what bands pop up on Thursday. I know they said only one band would be exclusive but... I dunno. Given that the event is "sold out," anyone thinking they might tack on another exclusive act or two? Probably not. But a person can dream... In other words: I'm hyped on ETID and Menzingers both potentially playing. Even though it's probably not it at all. Haha.
Sorry to change the subject, but I took a glance at some recent Dinosaur Jr. setlists and I’m so pleased with them. They’re literally playing all my favorite songs from their new album. I’m extra excited to see them! Dinosaur Jr. Setlist at Westville Music Bowl, New Haven
Pup just canceled their fall tour too I believe (got an email saying my date was postponed). Hope everything’s ok in their camp :(
Replace Pup with Catbite. For the obvious joke and also for the ska/rock fusion the festival badly needs more of.
Well damn. I’ve never seen GWAR before because musically they do nothing for me and there’s always someone I actually listen to playing at the same time as them. but I was really looking forward to being in a GWAR pit this year since Sunday was looking kinda bare for me. Not sure I’ll be able to catch them on Saturday though, when 80% of my must see acts for the whole weekend are playing.
GWAR is a very you've seen 'em once, you've seen 'em forever band, but they're a great way to kill time at a festival like Riot. I've seen them 4 (?) times and I've never really regretted it, though I wish I could've saw them before Oderus passed.
Gwar is always a blast. Last time I saw them at Riot I lost a shoe in the pit and wore a towel in the Uber back to my hotel in case my pants stained the seat lol
Let’s be real, GWAR is more popular for their live show than they are their music lol You gotta see them at least ONCE in your life, imo
I thought The Bronx was always listed as Saturday? I remember thinking it would make sense to put them and Fucked Up on the same stage.
It was weird that they had Andrew WK and GWAR on different days at first. They go hand-in-hand as he is seemingly the only act who is willing to go on after GWAR. This was a sticking point back in 2013 when they had Joan Jett originally scheduled after them and she said, “No fucking way”.
so far i have been pretty unimpressed by the concerts happening in my city since stuff started getting announced, but finally got 2 to be excited about. and both feature riot bands as openers so now its already giving me some breathing room for potential conflicts. Seratones are opening for Black Pumas, and Local H just announced they are bring Radkey as their opener! fuck yea! radio station also announced The Urge, Soul Asylum, local H, and julianna hatfeild which has my attention but havent committed yet.
Gotta love the whole "go to the show in your city to minimize conflict stress" move. That's usually how I roll, but so far that hasn't been an opportunity. Kinda hoping that Bayside/Senses Fail tour gets announced so I can lock that down... Also? The Urge and Soul Asylum should be talked about more as potential Riot Fest acts. Maybe one of these years.
Just got an email reminder from Riot Fest saying the deadline is coming up for refunds/transfers. No hints or anything. TBH, I'm a little surprised they didn't try to eek out another announcement (an album play or something) ahead of the transfer deadline.
