Looks like the tweet was deleted. For those wondering, it was a tweet from Nothing saying something along the lines of "Ngl having some serious @RiotFest fomo"
Odd that they deleted it, especially since it was an innocuous tweet. Maybe they decided to save it until they saw the full line-up? Either way, not surprised to see them tweeting this about the festival that has the Smashing Pumpkins headlining. Hah.
He played with them like 9 years ago or so in Nola at Jazz Fest when Jardine & Love toured with Brian Wilson... my coworker went, I'm sure she loved it
Yeah he’s been on/off touring with them the last few years. I have a friend that saw them a few years back and Stamos was playing lol
Also, apparently Blink’s been cancelling all their shows for 2021 and the rumor is, it’s because the Bad Religion/ALK3 tour’s back on. Maybe we’ll get those two tomorrow? At least I hope so
I know I'm setting myself up for disappointment but if tomorrow's announcement has BR, AK3, Laura Jane Grace, The Go-Gos and The Interrupters added I'd be super pumped.
Yeah, honestly? I’m getting myself way too over-pumped. I keep thinking we’re gonna get another headliner, and a good dose of bigger, mid-tier bands, when in reality, it’ll probably be a couple mid-tier bands, and a few low-tier/local bands LOL Everyone can blame me if the rest of the lineup isn’t what we expect to be. I apologize in advance
FWIW, Laura Jane Grace was on the Hard Times podcast last week and she essentially said she didn't plan on playing any shows in 2021. The conversation largely centered around touring, though, so that might not rule her out of Riot completely but... I wouldn't get too hopeful. I broke down my math a while ago, but I'm doubtful that we get another headliner. I am thinking we'll get 1-2 names within the top three lines, with the rest split pretty evenly between the middle of the poster and the bottom. Looking at the lower four lines, I'm feeling like the bulk of those will be on the second stage with several of them being the first for their day or opening. So the adds on the lower side of the poster might be a bit bigger than we'd typically anticipate (so not necessarily local openers). But maybe I'M being too optimistic as well!
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, I didnt dig too much into it. But apparently there's a festival called Music Midtown the same weekend as Riot Fest (in ATL I think?). Lineup isn't out yet but there's speculation that MGK is playing that. Guess we'll find out for sure tomorrow.
Interrupters may end on the Thursday, but I doubt they can be announced because of Hella Mega I think Bad Religion & Alkaline Trio are gonna end up sticking to their gig at the Riveria we'll find out tomorrow, I'm keeping my expectations low just so I won't be let down if it's MGK and they don't up the punx
Against Me! To my knowledge is not playing shows in 2021. I know Laura is going to do some solo touring and the band wants to do a record. James is doing his pedal business and has a kid. Andrew moved and is building a new venue in his hometown area. Atom is playing with some other bands as well. I’d be very surprised if they did the one off for Riot this year.
I'm really itching to see The Dangerous Summer again, so I hope they get added. But also I would love to see some more female representation. Would be really cool to see Pronoun, Charly Bliss, Soccer Mommy, Yours Truly, Bully, Camp Cope, Stand Atlantic, Beabadoobee or Meg & Dia get added.
Don’t think yours truly will be able to make it out of wherever they are from. Plus they played the last one. They where the opening band for sad summer originally
