Yeah I definitely feel like there’s not a good candidate for a “joke mosh” this year... yet. We’ll see what comes out of the next wave of bands.
Does the "ironic mush" thing actually happen? I always just sort of assumed it was something people talked about on-line and never actually did. If it does, wouldn't the obvious one for this year be a wall of death during "I'm Just A Kid" by Simple Plan?
It has happened the past few years, but I’m Just a Kid is a song people already mosh to. For reference, they’ve done it before to YMCA and Great Balls of Fire.
Nope, Spanish Love Songs weren't ever on the line-up. That would have caught my eye. There was a lot of chatter over the last year about them potentially being added during the 2nd or 3rd waves, though they weren't on the line-up. They did mention that they were looking to book shows in September, though. So maybe they get added this week! (I'm less convinced, at this point but you never know.)
For some reason i remember them being there. I never heard of them until the initial Riot Fest lineup was released. Maybe I finally reached that age
Hah! Well, FWIW, I'm rooting for them to be added on and was honestly a little surprised that they weren't on the initial line-up that was released.
per reddit/Lollapalooza's twitter "Full COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results will be required to attend Lollapalooza 2021. For patrons who are not fully vaccinated, a negative COVID-19 test result must be obtained within 24 hours of attending Lollapalooza each day."
I'm 100% on-board with this approach. But man, do I feel for any security guard working the entrance at any of these festivals that has to deal with the inevitable person or 200 who purchased a pass and either (a) happened to somehow miss the multitude of warnings about this requirement throughout the process, or (b) willfully choose to ignore/disregard them and expect to be able to get in anyway. I really hope people don't act a fool around this, but I suspect it will be an issue at one point or another. Hopefully they're quick to remove people from the line if Riot Fest takes this same approach.
That’s not the official page that’s from the r/lollapalooza Twitter but it’s on the ticket page landing
I'm curious how the actual entry will work. Like, I really hope I can somehow verify my vaccine status and just have that scanned from my phone along with the ticket. Really don't want to have to carry my vaccine card around.
Same. I'm already having nightmares about leaving my vax card at home before the trip - or leaving it behind in Chicago. I would imagine that, by the time the festival season rolls around, there will be a digital way to verify it. I just hope it's a consistent process across events. Otherwise shit's gonna get real confusing, real quick. EDIT: Would also be nice to somehow verify ahead of time and have a special line for folks who are vaccinated.
Lineup for lolla is tomorrow at 10 am with tickets at noon. Anyone that gets announced who was speculated of being added would be out for riot fest.
I'm not anticipating much in terms of crossover. Most of the crossover artists I would have anticipated are already on Riot Fest (RTJ, Dirty Heads, K.Flay, Beach Bunny, Pup, Joywave, KennyHoopla). But, obviously, there's the one big one...
Don’t think they where ever speculated for riot fest more of a dream wishlist bucket list for people. They’ve been linked to Lolla since last year
