That is tasty. Probably gonna hold until next year to get tickets, but between them and MCR? I'm at a lock for 2022, myself.
As someone who is not a Misfits fan at all, I assume this is a big deal? Also interesting they gave a solid date for that set. Assuming MCR will close out Sunday.
Meh. If they hadn't played just a few years ago it would be a good booking but all fresh blood in the headliner spots would be nice.
That’s a pretty cool add tbh, but as someone who isn’t a big Misfits fan, that announcement doesn’t do much for me...
Who would you suggest for a "fresh blood" headliner slot? Honestly, the pool of artists that fit what Riot Fest books is relatively small... At this point? I anticipate at least 1-2 repeats.
Not gonna lie, that would up my enjoyment of this year's line-up immensely. But I also haven't managed to catch them since the reunion yet so...
The Strokes, Green Day, Pavement, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wilco, even Op Ivy, just a few off the top of my head
Branch out a bit. The 1975 are not entirely unlikely at some point and they are deep into midwest emo being an influence of theres. Phoebe could easily be a headliner one day. Also no reason you can’t bring in St. Vincent, either. Same with Big Thief. There are indie acts that would broaden the headline pool and not effect the overall culture of the festial.
Is this a way to try and get a few more transfers to next year in order to free up more one day tickets for this year?
Incredible announcement for me. So excited for 2022. There are 4 songs on Walk Among Us that have not been played at all at any of their 2016-2019 reunion shows.
I would definitely take a repeat Misfits over most of the bands being thrown around for headliners right now.
This rocks, it at least worked for me and got me to buy my ticket for next year! I feel like this years sell out relied a lot on the shoulders of MCR, so with the addition of the Misfits next year I could see it selling out as well? Think a good amount of tickets will open up for this year.
I'm alright with that. I had to leave Misfits early in 2016 for MCS's "final" show, so it'd be fun to see them again without anywhere to be (and being more familiar with them now). Not leaving me feeling like holy shit, but MCR & Misfits as 2/3 headliners is as good a start to a lineup as any
