Happy for Dogleg and oso oso, but glad there aren't any "must see" bands for me. Not that there is usually a TON of cross over between P4K and RF, but still you never know!

I wonder what is going to happen with album plays this year. It is kind of strange that they mention Lupe Fiasco doing one on the main poster and don’t mention any others. I’m kind of a sucker for album plays since it means that the band definitely has to play some songs you don’t normally get to hear. Off the top of my head, with who has already been announced, I’m hoping for David Comes to Life and For Blood and Empire.

I’m thinking we get album-plays this week along with the rest of the bands

For what it's worth, I like the Pitchfork lineup more than the Riot lineup this year. They actually put together a solid lineup, even with no *huge* names.

Album plays have been weird, anyway, the last few years. When Riot started doing that it was pretty unique to the festival. That first year ("10 Years, 10 Essential Albums") most of them weren't based around tours happening at the time...

But more and more, the album plays have been rooted in tours. Which don't seem to be happening this year.

So it's really hard to tell what's going to happen. But I certainly have my wishlist! (And I'm still hopeful the Wonder Years get added for an Upsides play).

Eh, I dunno. I'd imagine the Riot Fest line-up we got in April/May was different than what they originally had in place too...

i love when posters accidently (or purposefully?) cluster bands that have similar names. This one has 5 different the "____ The _____" acts in a span of 2 lines. haha

and really, a band called Silverado Pickups? hehe

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

Kind of feel like Riot Fest would have included that in their announcement, but they could still add it.

  18. My bets are either on moving to a new location or them making the 4th day permanent. Would be happy to get a band today though!

If they ever move to a new location and it’s not in the city attendance would drop a lot so I doubt it’s that.

Even though the location isn’t the most convenient it’s still accessible by subway so it’s at least manageable for locals.

I highly doubt they are moving to a new location in Chicago and I doubt it's a band

  21. I really don't want the fourth day to be permanent. Four days of Riot is better than four days of Lollapalooza for a number of reasons, but three days is really the festival sweet spot for me.

I'm sort of indifferent about the location. Nothing will top Humboldt for me (especially when I lived less than a mile away in 2014) and there's no way it's going back there. Suburbs would be convenient for me but not as fun, and if it has to move elsewhere in the city I just hope there's better transit access.

I don’t think Humboldt is completely out of the question, especially with it being 10 years since the first outdoor dates.

The politics around that have changed greatly.

Where else could they move to in the city though? I can’t think of anywhere other than Grant Park which would never happen because it’s too big and already hosts a lot of events in the summer.

Humboldt or a parking lot. That’s really it.
