FWIW, some radio station in PA posted that Hella Mega tour dates were being rescheduled and announced on Monday. The post went up 8 hours ago and is still there...

Wonder if this might have something to do with 2022?

I’m still not convinced RTJ is gonna be a headliner. I think there might be a final “big” headliner announced next week. Although, I also expect to be 100% wrong. Haha

    GREEN DAY CONFIRMED

    Just kidding

    ...but what if...

I wouldn't be shocked if all of the Warped Tour-ish bands played on a side stage all day.

Just put my refund request in. Lineup is good, but holding out for next year to be better, as well as all my friends I was going with bailed

it's nearly impossible, they are playing Vegas on the Saturday of Riot... their gear requires 18 wheelers, and those drivers can legally only drive so many hours in a day.. is it possible they show up Thursday as the Network, yes... Green Day, not realistic

I will say, if that was the case, I would immediately transfer my 2021 ticket to 2022. Hella Mega and MCR alone is enough to get me to the gig.

Anyone know how much single day tickets sell for?
Looks like I'm just gonna have to buy tickets for all 3 individual days.

I was a little let down with the announcement this morning at first. But now that I have had time to process it and also watch some videos of Devo performing (which was one of my few wishlist bands that got added), I am just back to feeling super hyped again!

Ah not bad, $300 sure is a lot better than the $500 people are selling their 3 day passes on Stubhub for.

That’s just a guess I have no idea. Usually they start at $50 in years past but with everything being more this year I took a wild guess. We will find out next week. But yeah I’m sure it will be cheaper now to buy 3 single days. But those stub hub prices will come down. I went to Chicago open air back in its first year and bought 3 day field passes off of stub hub for less then retail on the website

So realistically who and how many bands do we think get added next week? Also do you think we get the Thursday headliner or do you think they will wait till the week of to announce who’s headlining Thursday? And what do you think the big news for 2022 is?

Back in the days of secret shows they usually let you know right before the fest who was playing them. You never just showed up without know who was playing beforehand. But that was over a decade now so I have no clue if that will be the same for this Thursday show.

The current line-up has 67 bands on it. 2019 had 91. 2018 had 90. So I would guess, we'll be getting 20-23 more unless they've opted to slim things down a bit. But based on what we've seen from the line-up so far? I don't think that's the case.

Over the weekend, there's a total of 12 "main stage" closers (4/day). I'm guessing we have all but one of those. Normally I'd say we definitely do, but I could see Coheed being directly before Faith No More. I don't see Taking Back Sunday or NFG having a spot on a stage they don't headline unless a new headliner is added that works with that. So maybe one more; maybe none. The Offspring is probably a popular guess here. MGK is still in play too (unfortunately).

The smallest stage had 7-8 artists per day (~21-24 total). The first 3-4 were generally on the "much smaller" tip, while the last 3-4 of the day were relatively well known. Looking at the lower bit of the poster, I'd say this is the biggest gap and hardest to predict. Some bands could be later in the day or early on a main stage (Anti-Flag, the Bled, Fucked Up, White Lung). Either way, I'm guessing this is the bulk of the adds. Maybe 10-12 more? A mix of notable names and relatively unknowns.

Then there's probably going to be ~6-7 in the middle of the line-up added too that bump some names down.

I won't even fathom to guess who it is, but I'm hoping for more straight ahead punk and/or some names that are in the "holy shit, didn't see that coming!" category. Maybe not a reunion but something rare and unexpected.

Too, I don't think we get any more info about Thursday until much later in the summer. Partially because of how confusing it would be to throw that out there the same time as single day passes. There's also a chance they might also just only announce that via e-mail to people with the passes. Again, because I could see that getting super confusing. You have to click through multiple links on the site to find the initial "statement" about it that they made last year and I think that's by design.

As for the big 2022 news: Beyond the addition of a new headliner, I can't even fathom what it could be since we've ruled out most everything else I can think of. Hah.

Yeah, I don’t really see what the Thursday announcement would be other than an additional headliner. But I have been wrong about most things so far, so who knows.

I’m thinking they’re moving out of Douglas. The skyline is completely different for the admat. Also, it doesn’t say Douglas Park. upload_2021-5-14_23-49-56.jpeg

New theory: The big news is that Riot will be the Chicago date of the 2022 Pavement tour

Although, the new venue thing must be it

Why do people constantly think that Riot Fest is going to move?

Edit: For that skyline to be accurate, they would have to be at Union Park I think. I don’t see them downgrading like that. And I don’t see them going to grant park, which would be the other reason to show a closer skyline for a move. The skyline is probably just bigger to take up space since there are no names to put on the poster.

I mean, because it's moved once already. Hah. But I do think the fact that it just says "Chicago, IL" instead of the park name is reason enough to guess that. (And arguably makes more sense/has more evidence to support it than any of the other guesses, TBH.)

Not being a local though, I can't say what sort of a move would be a "big one."
