Archers of Loaf was supposed to play Wicker Park Fest last year. No idea if that fest is happening this year or what AOL's touring plans are now.
I kinda wonder if they're hedging their bets there. The announcement specifically points out that NIN will headline, but doesn't acknowledge RTJ as a headliner. Given the fact that RTJ was previously billed 4th (granted, two of the top 3 were sets of question marks), I wonder f they're still trying to shore up a true third headliner. Could be tenuous enough where there's a solid chance whatever they're working on won't pan out, in which case they just let RTJ headline and pretend that was the plan all along.
probably will just end up transferring tickets to next year - nothing on this is really enticing to me right now haha
None of the sad summer fest bands ended up on this as of now which is kinda shocking thought at least all time low and the story so far would be on it
Super depressed that 3 day passes are sold out without even a chance for any new ones to go on sale. This is the first fest that hasn’t had additional 3 day tickets go on sale after their rescheduled announcement. I can’t believe so many of the MCR kids would want to hang on to their 2021 passes.
I mean they did go up for a few min cuz I was able to get in to buy this years tixs if I wanted too but I already have tixs for this year
Well they have been on sale for a year plus and like I said I think nin moved a bunch with their hardcore fan base
I have a feeling they need to see how many tickets they are getting back before they open up again. I'm guessing it was close to sold-out with just MCR considering how the MCR tour sold.
I have no clue but I would think you’d be able to. Ever since they moved to Eventbrite they’ve been sold on stub hub. Also I think other shows that use Eventbrite are sold on stub hub
I really really doubt there's another top 3 headliner. That's not something you'd hold back. There may be a big artists, but RTJ will stay in the top 3
Ticket refunds are available until May 31st. They need to process all the refunds, and then after that, I am 100% positive additional GA, VIP, and Deluxe VIP tickets will go back on-sale. They'll probably announce an on-sale date and time and everything after that happens. But it's also kind of really weird that they haven't explicitly mentioned that in any of their updates thus far. Clearly, it's confusing people.
I mean, festivals add bands (including headliners) for sold-out festivals all the time - even after its sold out. If they were planning on booking them and the ink wasn't dry? They wouldn't just stop the conversation. That being said: Who the hell knows who they'll be adding next week. Could be a bunch of openers for the small stage with 2-3 bigger names. Could also be a bigger 2nd or 3rd line band. I do doubt it's top 3, but maybe they're just hedging bets... Hard to know. But I'm definitely leaning toward it being more the former where it's a slate of smaller bands (main stage openers; artists to fill up the second stage) and maybe 3-4 bigger artists that would be in the middle to top of the line-up.
Yeah once, they process the refunds I'm sure more 3-day GA tickets will pop up. One other thought, and I have nothing to back this up so take it with a Gwar costume-sized grain of salt, but could they be reducing the number of attendies per day for covid reasons? Nothing TOO noticeable but just to give a little more space for those who might want a LITTLE distance?
That's possible too, but I'm honestly thinking it's more the fact that right now the number of tickets sold basically reflects a festival headlined by My Chemical Romance, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, and Run the Jewels. That is a shit-ton of tickets. Once the MCR crowd (or people who bought passes in advance and are iffy on the line-up) get their refunds in? I bet a whole mess of passes open up. Maybe not a ton, but enough that people should be able to get them if they jump on them fast enough.
I wonder if we’ll get some more metal acts next week. Aside from NIN, FNM, and TGI, there’s nothing much in the way of “heavy” music
I’m still hoping for some more punk! But I’m sure even without more bands I could still have a real good time with this lineup. So do we think that they are going to stick the ska bands all on one stage with the Dirty Heads and Sublime with Rome? Or are they going to spread them out like they normally do?
