I thought it was the other way around and they said none of the Thursday bands were on the original lineup bc I remember people saying “well technically ISOH is a different band than NFG”

So 2021 is sold out? I just really want to see NIN, should I just buy a ticket to LTL?

Here's what it says: "Surprise sets from mysterbands. If you were with us when Riot Fest was an indoor festival, you know that we throw a killer surprise party. You can expect to see some sets that will earn you bragging rights. Don’t look at the lineup for any hints, though—one of the bands will be a Thursday exclusive, meaning they won’t play the rest of the festival!"

So, looking at the way its worded? Thursday night will consist of bands already on the line-up for the rest of the weekend with the exception of one band who will not play the rest of the festival. So I don't think it's Fishbone. Whatever band it is won't be on the poster.

It would be really fucked to advertise a band as being part of the main festival and then have them play some much smaller thing on Thursday that not everybody has access to.

Ya I think it's like this: anyone on the poster now is 100% playing Friday - Sunday. Anyone on that poster is fair game to also play on Thursday - most likely for a more "specialty" set. There is one big band (big relative to riot fest) that will only play Thursday. I don't think we'll know what we're getting Thursday until we're there.

Anyone know how long the promo code for 2022 tickets lasts? And there's no other perks besides just the $10 off right? If that's all I might hold off for a while. Struggling enough to keep up with the announcements coming just for August - October right now.

    Prestigious Prestigious

The lack of emo, indie punk, and pop punk is disappointing to me. I’m surprised they strayed away from those genres because you would think they would want to keep the MCR fans from getting a refund.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Alright: I haven’t really caught up and I apologize if some of these things have been said-

-I’m super stoked for the new addictions. NIN, FMN, MCS, DEVO, I’m more excited now!

-Hoping for the third wave we get some more 90’s-era indie bands that’d pair well with Dinosaur Jr. Superchunk, or Archers Of Loaf would be rad

-Genuinely curious who the third headliner will be. I know this has been discussed numerous times, but I don’t think RTJ is a headliner

-OR, maybe they can get another big hip hop act and they can co-headline with RTJ

-If MCS doesn’t play Commit This To Memory at Riot, maybe they’ll do it at the Thursday pre-party

-Seems like Riot has been scaling back on reunions. Was hoping we’d get a few

-Where are people hearing more bands would be announced next week? Did I miss something?

It kinda seems like they abandoned the MCR demographic and swung hard for the “cool dad who was into alternative music in the 90s” demographic

I really hope they give us an inkling of who will be playing on Thursday as time goes along.

Given the current line-up, I'm feeling like Andrew W.K., Taking Back Sunday, and the Lawrence Arms will be on there. Based solely on all of them being close to the festival/playing it a bunch.

I don't think they really strayed too much from it, though. New Found Glory, Simple Plan, Motion City Soundtrack, State Champs, Bayside, Mayday Parade, Thursday, Pup, and Meet Me @ the Altar all have pretty solid crossover with the MCR crowd I would imagine. That's about the same number of artists they'd have in that general vein/mold on an average year, anyway.

And TBH, there's a certain chunk of that MCR fanbase that was probably going to get a refund no matter who else they added.

I had a similar thought about my "90s punk" wants earlier today, but when I really stopped and looked at it? It's in there. It's just a bit more spread out (and seemingly "top-heavy") than it usually is.

Looks like 3 day passes are indeed sold out. Maybe they won’t make any available after refunds

It's interesting to me how lukewarm most people in this thread are to the bigger name additions of NIN, FNM, Devo, and Mr. Bungle compared to everywhere else on my social media feed. People are stoked about seeing those names added! But I'm right in the demo where those bands carry more weight (I'm 37 with most of my friends being late 20s to early 40s).

I'm feeling like Smashing Pumpkins and Dinosaur Jr. will inevitably wind up on the same stage. It'd be rad for them to have Superchunk or Archers of Loaf or somebody on there too!

I was a big proponent of this being the case this year, but I think they're the headliner. I say that because they are just saying "more bands" and not specifying headliners, which they usually do when it's a bigger act.

Perfect idea, TBH. Or maybe they do the album at Riot and a "greatest hits" set at the Thursday party? That'd be rad!

This is probably partially the pandemic and partially that not necessarily being something to lean on every year. That's been the running joke the last few years. "But what will they do after the reunions dry up?" Because there's only a handful left that will be major draws... Most of which won't ever happen.

Wild that Simple Plan can play this and have people embrace them being there. Back in the early 00's, people would get annoyed that they were even on the Warped Tour.

Damnit, it's sold out already?! Me and a few friends just locked down our plans for this!

Hopefully Stubhub wont be too overpriced
